I'm on the road towards my surgery.  I've finished the sleep study, the upper GI, the surgeon consults, etc.   I will get getting my surgery in Flagstaff with Dr. Aldridge and have 4 more appointment  "days" up there.  The Dr., the nutritionist and the 90 minute psych evaluation.  Wow, what do you talk to a psychiatrist about for an hour and a half!?!

I've never been someone that has taken care of myself consistantly.  Part of my initial documentation issue was that I never went to the Dr. (even if I needed it) from 2002 to 2009.   I'm just taking one step at a time to complete all the steps I have to take in order to make this happen.  In between those things, I research alot about protein, lifestyle changes, and other post-op kind of topics.

The pt. advocate in Flagstaff - Betsy - is some kind of goddess!  According to her my target surgery date will be right around the end of September/beginning of October.  Yowsa!  I'm scared and excited.  I can almost imagine what a life would be without knee pain, hip pain, foot pain, diabetes.....   Actually I spend a little time each day imagining that.
