I imagine that my story is like so many others. I wasn't particularly heavy until after college. In high school, I decided that I needed to lose weight, so I joined Weight Watchers and lost about 15 lbs. The result of that was my prom dress being a size 4 and people telling me that I needed to gain weight! After college, I got married and soon had my first child. Most of the weight I gained during my pregnancy stayed with me and increased even more with my second pregnancy. Over the past 25 years (since the birth of my youngest son) my weight have gradually increased to my current weight of 240. I have started and stopped Weight Watchers so many times that I couldn't begin to put a number on it. I've tried every fad diet that I have heard of....I have tried Adkins....low carb/low fat...you name it. I typically lose around 30 pounds and then gain that plus a few more in a couple months. I have several friends that have had the RNY procedure done by Dr Moran over the past year. The results that they have seen are unbelieveable. I have done so much soul-searching about this surgery. I am completely confident that I have made the right decision to proceed with it. My husband is 100% supportive of my decision, as is the rest of my family. I'm very excited about the changes physically and emotionally that I will be going through very soon. I am so ready for the rest of my life to begin!
