So it's been like 3 months since I blogged....the only time I ever get to come on here was at work and work has been CRAZY!!! I haven't had even 1 minute to spare lately...but I need to get back here because I have been at a stand still at -40lbs I have had 2 more fills and can tell a huge difference since my last one... I can eat lmost anything but not very much of it...Softball has ended and I need to get my butt back to the gym.....a friend of mine is going to join SNAP and we can go together, hopefully that will give me some motivation, because I don't seem to have any now!!! I think I need to make another goal for myself...maybe loose another 10-15 lbs by x-mas???? I think I could maybe do it????? 10 for sure at least........and by getting back to the gym 3-5 times a week it shouldn't be a problem I wouldn't think....I'll have to work on that...........

So I am not too good with posting very often I see...hmm oh well :) We just returned from vacation. DH and I went out to the east coast for a wedding and we had a BLAST!!!! the morning we left I was officially down 40lbs!!! The scale wasn't as nice by the time we came home...I think I gained 5 lbs in a week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OUCH!! back to the gym for me I guess......All else is well, I think I am nearly ready for fill #2 and I have it scheduled for Aug 20th as this was the earliest they could get me in. They did put me on a list to call if somene cxl's so I can get in a bit earlier than that so we shall see. I have been SUPER tired lately so I think I need to up my protein (I was a BAD girl on vacation!) and I need to keep up with the flinstones as well and I am sure I will feel better in no time.....on a good note I am down from a size 20 to a 16 in most everything....I am on the road to 14's and hope to be there by fall!!!!!!

Ok, so I had my first fill... I wasn't sure I really needed one because I still can't eat like I did before and if I don't chew really well and eat slow, it feels like I have a hockey puck stuck in my chest!! I haven't pb'd, or thrown up yet but I did have one 'slime'..I was eating a left over hamburger patty that had been grilled. I took maybe 3 small bites and I thought I would die of a heart attack and then came the slaliva/slime like right before you throw up, and it lasted about 5 min and then I was fine....I wont do THAT again (hopefully!) any way, Dr. J said he wanted to try a small fill....when he went in he found I already had 3cc in my band, which was news to me becuase when I asked before he told me I didn't have anything...but then at the apt he said 'oh yes, there should be a little from surgery" wtf??? I was a little put off by that, but he did put in another 1cc and I could for sure feel it. I took a drink and could feel it going down...yesterday I was REALLY tight but today I feel back to normal...on liquids today and back to soft/mushies tomorrow.. Also I didn't even feel the fill itself. They gave me a numbing shot first and I didn't even feel that. So fills are a breeze so far for me hopefully this will last me a while and the next one will go as well as the first!!

Today has been a month since I was banded. It seems like it was FOREVER ago!!!! I really feel great and like I have never had surgery at all...except that I can't eat as much as I used to!! I am doing much better with my water and finally getting most if not more in everyday. I am excited to be on REAL FOOD and not having much trouble with it at all. I am scheduled for a fill on the 27th but I am not sure I even need one....I can't eat a whole lot and already struggle to get in my protein and calories in so the fill may have to wait a couple of weeks, but we will see what the doc has to say...... I started back to the gym and am actually kind of excited to go everyother morning...we'll see how long that lasts!!! All together I have lost 30 lbs and am down to just about a 16, still some 18's, but I couldn't be happier with my results so far and hopefully the workouts will help to get me toned as I am already seing a difference in how my skin looks...YUCK!!!

ok,so it's been nearly a month since my last post, but I have been soooo BUSY!!! I had surgery on the 22nd, it was very uneventfull, the hospital was great, the nurses were very nice and didn't seem to be poking me to often, I was up and around a couple hours after surgery and wasn't in pain really at all, just a little uncomfortable...DH was there to help me and take care of me when I got home the next day. I wasn't in as much pain as I thought I would be just really uncomfortable....I don't like the bloated feeling and thats what I felt most of the time...now it's been just about a week, I am back to work and I want real food...this liquid stuff is for the birds!! I am super tired and I don't know if it's from the surgery or no calories for a week!!! anywho, I go in tomorrow for my 1 week check up and I am hoping that he says I can move onto at least cream soups/yogurt, that sort of thing....but we will have to wait and see....My DH took my list to the grocery store and got me stocked up for the next stage of eating....He has been super to me, I have been so lucky to have the support from him, I couldn't have done this without him!!!!! Hopefully I can post after my appointment tomorrow..

I met with Dr. Johnson this morning and I really like him, he was very nice and made sure all my questions were answered. I have a date finally of April 22nd at 1:30.. I would have liked it earlier in the morning but thats ok I 'll take any time I can get!! So here starts the next leg of my journey....

Ok, so good things come to those who wait!! Lisa called me this morning and told me that I WAS APPROVED!!!!!!! I am SOOOOOOOOOOO ready to do this and I am so excited and happy and just about ready to jump out of my skin I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I talk to the surgeon on the 7th and she said he is about 2 weeks out for surgery so HOPEFULLY by the end of April I will be banded !!!!!!!

ok, I am getting VERY ticked at insurance...They said it would take 48 hours to get approval...it's been a month :(
I found out last week that the person who got my case has been out sick or weeks!!! WTF?? so now someone has it and they need more info........so I had the info faxed over to them and now I sit here and wait again.......I am loosing my mind and have totally fallen off the wagon and probably gained all the pre op weight back........this sucks!!!!!!!

I saw the NUT and had my teaching appointment last Wed and each day since I have been getting a little more upset....the appointment itself went very well with both, but during the teaching appointment the nurse had a hard time because she couldn't find any notes on my or my file....This was a little unerving for me because I have been going there since last Sept and the only note that was in the computer was that I was there on 9/7 and inquired about the band...hmmmm how about all the measurments and weight and everything we went over?????? she said it's possible that I will have to go another month because of the 6mo structured weight loss because of the lack of documentation.....but she also said that maybe they would go back and update the notes from what the nurse wrote down that day.... I don't know, I just left a message earlier today for them to call me back so this can be straightened out but I haven't heard anything yet......I know another month isn't the end of the world, but after waiting so long and following the rules and doing everythig they have asked of me I feel like it'll never be submitted and I will never get this done!!!!! grrrrrrr.....I suppose I will wait util Wed and call back if I haven't heard from them by then..........

ok, feeling a little better today...I talked to the bariatric center yesterday and they have all my paperwork except for the letter from my PCP so I called and asked to have him write that up and send it over (which they told me he wouldn't be back in the office until Wed)....I have an apt with the NUT tomorrow and hopefully I will get a call SOOON to set up the teaching apt.......step by step it's getting closer and closer!!! on the down side I got on the scale at work today and it said I GAINED a pound :( but I wont let it get me down..I just need to get myself moving a bit more and DRINK MORE WATER!!!!! Oh and I called the insurance to see if anything of the criteria has changed for the band being covered as of the new year and everything is still the same and they also said that it only takes 48 hours to know if it's approved after they get all the paperwork!!! I am SUPER excited about that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
