So, October 25th will be 10 months post op. I am currently at 139 pounds, that is a total of 97 pounds lost. I went from a size 22-24 to a size 10-12. I feel great, except my hair keeps falling out! I just had my tonsils out, and some work on my sinuses. I have lost 6 pounds since monday. Not good, but thats only because my throat hurts too bad to eat. Once the stints come out, I will be back at work. So........ question of the day........once you get to your goal weight, how do you stop losing weight? Even when I was eating before my tonsil surgery, I was still losing a pound or so each week.

It's been a while...almost 4 months out

and I've lost 51 pounds. I no longer have to wear a size 24 pant, I can now get into a size 16. My shirts are no longer a 3x, I can wear an x-large now. YAY! I was kind of in a rut gaining a few pounds and staying around the same weight, but when I weighed this morning, I had lost half a pound putting me under what I've been weighing for the past month. My doctor told me on monday that I need to add in vitamin b-12 and vitamin d as they are deficient. Hopefully I can find a sublingual that I can take. Anyway, I got to get to work. I will post again soon!

Just shy of 3 weeks out and....

21.5 pounds lost! Yeah! I found a gummy vitamin that I like. So hopefully that will help me to get some energy! Also, I got my calcet chews from bariatric choice in yesterday. So now I am getting my calcium also! I have this thing where when I eat, for a while I will feel nauseous (sp) afterward. Does any one know if we can take Zofran orally disentigrating tabs? I may try one just to see if it helps. I have some left over from the last time I was sick. Anythings better than this nauseous feeling that I have. I hate to be sick. Also, does anyone know when I can eat salad again? I am craving a good salad with some nice iceberg lettuce! Anywho, we are having a birthday party today, first one since the surgery, so we will see how I do. Celebrating 4 birthdays, my brother and bro-in-law on the 11th, my niece on the 12th, and my nephew on the 13th. I made a pie, my first ever attempt at a pie, and I can't even eat it. So I am anxious to see what people say about the taste. I don't really crave sweets. I crave the taste of things, but really I can do without. I don't want it, but I miss the taste. It's hard to explain. Anyway, I gotta run.

1 Week and 4 days out

and doing great! I have lost a total of 17 pounds. I am now released to eat soft foods for this week and working my way to meats next week. Only 1 more week left until I have to head back to work. I go back on the 15th of this month. I am now able to lay flat so I have moved from the living room couch back to my bed! Joy! The only problem I have is that I have zero energy. I can't quite figure that one out yet. Maybe I need more protein? I can get up and move around, but I tire very easily. Not sure about that. Well I got to go. Got to go do some shopping with my mom! Well, my journey is going well. Up to this point since surgery I have lost a total of 14.5 pounds. I feel much better, hardly any pain at all. I am going on my first shopping trip since surgery, not to buy clothes yet, I still fit in my old ones. Just to get out, get my daughter's prescription refilled, and pick up a few things we need for the house. My mom is driving me and will be with me the whole time, so if I wear down, she will be there to help. I am sure I will be good and tired when I get back. I can't believe how fast the weight is falling. I hope I will be ready to go back to work on the 15th of February.

It's here!!!!

Tomorrow is the big day! OMG I am so scared and excited and nauseated! LOL. I have to be there at 6:30 am and surgery is scheduled to begin at 8:00 am. My hubby is taking me. I haven't even packed my bag yet! So much to do! I had to work today, so I didn't get home until 7:30 pm. I've been getting my little one in bed, and all that so just now getting to sit down. My hubby is going to take my before picture later tonight. Then he will take a few at the hospital, just because he wants me to see what I look like high on pain meds! LOL He thinks he is being funny. Okay, I gotta run! Wish me luck, and I will post as soon as I feel up to it afterward!

until I start my journey on becoming my "new" self!!!! Surgery is January 25th. I have to be there at 6:30 am and surgery is at 8:00 am. I am nervous and excited all at the same time. I have 5 more work days until surgery. I only work monday through thursday. So that's 4 days this week and just monday of next! I can't wait! Still trying to get my things together so I can pack quickly the night before. Got my binder of things that I can eat (well drink really) during the first week or two after surgery. Yay!!!

Update on all scheduled appts

Okay, So after I got my insurance approval on December 18th, I made 3 appointments.
On January 6th I have my upper endoscopy (any insight from readers would be greatly appreciated. This one is the one I am looking forward to the least)
On January 11th I have my pre-op appointment at the hospital, and then at Dr Turnquest's office.
On January 25th, SURGERY!!!!!! Yahooo!!!!!!!! I am stoked. I have already started getting things together for my hospital bag. So far, I have:
1) My kindle and charger
2) My cell phone and charger
3) My laptop and charger
4) My bathroom stuff ( toothbrush, paste, hair brush and that stuff)
5) My Robe and slippers to walk around in after surgery.
Thats it so far. I will add my camera for a before pic. Also some books and notebook and pen. Otherwise, I am not sure what I need to put in.

Psych Eval tomorrow

I get to find out tomorrow whether I am certifiably crazy or not. J/K. I have my psych eval tomorrow at 2:15 pm. This is the last step before my surgeon submits to my insurance! I hope I do well, and there are no problems.

Got an e-mail from my doctors office

So I got an e-mail from Dr Turnquest's office today. I had asked if she could kind of give me a time frame on surgery. Basically it all depends on my insurance. But she said that since I have already seen the dietician, and they got that paperwork, and I am scheduled for my psych eval on Dec 2, then she should have that report by the 9th. Upon receiving that report she will submit to my insurance, which they have 30 days to respond. So she said that most likely we will schedule around mid to late January!!!! I hope so!!!!!
