May 2014 (roughly) - Told my GP I was interested in WLS. He referred me to the Ontario Bariatric Clinic and also a psychiatrist to ensure I understood the pros and cons, and was sound-of-mind.

June 1, 2015 - Sleep Study consultation

June 11, 2015 - Follow-up appointments with the Nurse and then the Dietician (I was told to keep a food log and also the psychiatrist wants to follow-up since I'll be there anyways just to ask if I've made any steps towards my goal to find local counseling, if I should need it.)

June 19, 2015 - Went to a the sleep study clinic. I had at least 50 wires attached to me; mainly on my scalp. They used a gel-like substance to keep them all attached. I slept in a room where there was a few more wires to attach to me, as well as a camera and a button to buzz if I needed to use the washroom or get up for any reason. You can't really move much because if you do and wires detach the tech has to keep coming into the room to reattach them and it gets very annoying for the both of you. It took me about 2.5 to 3 hours to fall asleep. I kept busy all day so I could relax and sleep easily, and skipped dinner thinking I had a late lunch and I'd be fine...nope! Once I did finally fall asleep it was very restful and I was woken up at 6am. Simple as that. Have fun washing that stuff out of your hair though! Use hot water!
