"I was referred by my insurance provider to Scott and White for their bariatrics program in February 2012. I attended their monthly seminar which was hosted by Dr. Symmonds at the beginning of March. He was very informative and answered all the questions that I had with honest answers and made me feel that with him I would be in very good hands. I met with one of their coordinators, Paulette, for my first appointment and she, too, was very honest and informative. I never felt judged or embarrassed when dealing with anyone in the bariatric clinic, unlike previous attempts at looking in to having weight loss surgery. I had my RNY Gastric bypass at Scott and White Hospital with Dr. Symmonds at the end of June 2012. Dr. Symmonds came to see me in my hospital room the day of surgery, as soon as I was awake enough to talk to him, and again the following morning before I was discharged to go home.
I have felt supported and well informed by the people who work at the Scott and White bariatrics clinic and am thankful that I chose them to do my surgery. I couldn't have asked for a better team of doctors."
