So as you can all see from my bigger days, I went to Vegas. I was 245 when I was there in 2008. I had my Surgery this past April. As  a treat to myself, I went to Vegas again. Only this time- 100lbs lighter. I happened to go during the AVN convention for work and was offered jobs and all. Very exciting being mistaken for a porn star LOL.

I hope everyone is doing well and successful this new year. I have never been happier!

 What can I say, time flies. 


So it has been a 6 great months. I have never felt better and never looked better. I am down 80lbs and it is great! 30 more pounds to go until I reach my goal. I need to tone up my stomach and arms more. Anyone have any effective suggestions?

Life has been so great. Last month I graduated for college. Two days before graduation I got an amazing job as an artistic director for a chain of boutiques. I am designing the interior of the stores, the marketing tools, and even doing some buying. I love my life right now.

 Hey Everyone!!!

I haven't written in awhile, but I need some advise.....

I'm a little over 2 months post op and had my tonsils taking out last week. I am still in severe pain and can't swallow. This whole week I have been living off apple juice and broth. I have tried protein shakes and they made me so sick. I think that has a lot to do with all the pain meds I have been taking. I also haven't been able to chew my vitamins. I feel like I am going to cause a problem or lose all my hair....... Has anyone had their tonsils out so close to being post op? Or does anyone have any recommendations on how to get some protein in?

Back to sleeping off the pain.....



Oh bright side note though --- Today I was looking through my closet and I found a dress I wore for my 8th grade graduation dance. That was 8 years ago.  It was a size 13 and it was big!!

 This morning I went back to see the doctor and everything was great. He put me on pureed already, That kind of shocked me, but I am not complaining. I tried eating and I am not hungry. After I had my bad cold last week, I haven't been able to get much down. So hopefully soon I get get more protein in.  
.......Oh and my incisions are bubbled and one is super itchy,  I feel like a dog with fleas. It has me going crazy. 

Well I hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather....90+ degrees today was amazing!

I had a great recovery. I was discharged on Thursday, spent a few long hours shopping in the mall on Saturday,  and I was even out driving yesterday. BUT today I wake up and have a horrible cold.  I mean I feel it everywhere! I can't even get fluids down, but I am forcing them as best as I can. Coughing and sneezing hurt like hell. I can not wait until I feel better. I just bought liquid tylenol cold and hoping it works.  All I want to do is sleep. 

 Well let me tell you, the surgery went really well.

All I can remember is I did not want to wake up after the surgery and I was very nauseous.....although my second day in the hospital was perfect. I woke up, was taken off the morphine, and everything got better. I think I even shocked the nurses a little. I was trying to do everything on my own. My nurses were amazing! I am so happy I did this. Three days post op and everything is fine. I mean I am still very sore and feel like my incisions will start ripping open, but this was a great experience. 

Thank You to everyone who prayed for me and left me sweet messages. 

 So tomorrow I get my surgery. I am nervous, scared, excited, etc. I think I am more scared about staying 2 nights at the Clinic instead of the actual surgery. I am not a big fan of hospital atmospheres...

Well I will tell everyone how it went when I come back home. 

 So I am still getting the surgery, but its a week later and I am now paying cash for it because they won't bill the insurance company. I still think they are insane, but hopefully if I bill the insurance company I will be able to get the $25,000 back. This has caused more stress than anything. 

 So I finished finals today and was happy because I got straight A's. . . . Well The Barix Clinic definitely crushed that feeling. I was already scheduled for the 9th and everything and I get a call today saying that insurance company probably won't cover it because of some clause that makes no sense. I was told I can't get the surgery until 2010. This is outrageous.   

I think I would have been okay with this situation if it happened 2 months ago. Not 2 weeks before the surgery.  

 So today I was called and told the date of my surgery. April 9, 2009. I am nervous and excited. I actually can't wait. It happened very quick for me, but I did tons or research ahead of time.  It was just six weeks ago that I had my first consultation. . . 

I am a full time student and this should be very interesting to go back to classes one week after the surgery. I really hope I don't have any complications.
