Ok, so I can't win.  I had my port replaed on mar 26th and since then no restriction.  I was at 3.25cc before that and felt good and since then oh boy.  Well have been back and forth to Dr. Lautz and fill after fill I have no restriction.  i saw him today again and when he went to withdraw my fluid there was nothing in my band so either I have a leak or since my port repositioning it is so deep and hard to find maybe we aren't getting in the band and think we are in.  I don't know!!  I am going to wait a few weeks and see if I have restriction and if not we have to determine if Ihave a leak and fix it.  I can't win but at least the weight is staying off.  Even after going from o to 3.0 cc I still feel nothing this afternoon so hopefully it will kick in but I am thinking I do have a leak because I had good restriction and I know how it should feel.  Well more another time.

Wow it's been awhile since I have updated but all is well. I have lost 50+ pounds and I feel wonderful. I have had 6 fills and they are so easy my restriction is good at this point and I workout each day.  I have gone from being tired all the time to have so much more energy.  My husband and children always tell me how much better I look and that makes me feel so good.  I feel so much better about myself and that shows in all I do now.  Life is really good at my half way point.  I finally got under 200 lbs and that in itself is amazing, I am so happy!!.  I had my last fill 3/15/07 and found out that my port needs to be re positioned and replaced with a low profile port because it sticks up under my skin like a little egg and causes me pain.  My husband hugged me the other day and said eww what is that.  So I guess since I have lost weight it just popped more.  My port  is also tilted so it makes it even worse.  Anyway Monday the 26th I will be having the surgery to take care of this problem.  So that is it for now, I am great and so glad I am on this journey.  All the best!!!

Well it's been a while and things are wonderful  I have lost 34lbs and feel teriffic.  I went from never having energy to now playing tennis on Tuesday with my children and I also work out M-f 90 minutes a day.  I swim laps and do water aerobics, I do body pump classes, treadmill, weight train and enjoy life.  I have lost 26.5 inches since August WOW I can not believe it.  I am always on the go!!  I have had 3 fills 9/28 1cc on 10/10 had .2cc added and today 11/2 had .8 added for a total of 2cc's in my band.  I am hopeing for some good restriction now.  For the first time in my life I am now putting myself first along with my children and my husband.  My family always tell me how good I am doing and how much better I look.  I am so thankful for Dr. Lautz and his team they have changed my life.

Well I did it I am on the other side. I am 5 days post-op and feeling great just wish this shoulder pain would go away, aside from that I feel great. The surgery date was wonderful went in with my husband he stayed with me until I was rolled away to surgery and I was asleep before I got to the OR. My sister also was banded the same day just hours before me in the same hospital. After recovery I got right out of bed and used the bathroom I felt great. I had to have a Hiatial hernia repaired as well but still felt great. My wonderful husband was there with me and I called my children as soon as I got back from the bathroom they were thrilled that all went well. My mom wastaking care of them thank goodness for Grandma. My 6 year old hated to see mommy go he sent me off with his two favorite teddy bears Love him!!. After about an hour or two I got up and walked down the hall with my husband to my sisters room she was in 785 I was in 758 how weird. Spent some time down there then it was her turn to get up so I went back to my room and she came to see me. We were so glad to have eachother. Once our husbands left we spent time together then headed off to bed. The next morning I got up got dressed and went to wake up Paula and we both walked down the hall. Shortly after that I was discharged and she had to stay a little bit for a breathing treatment her asthma acted up but she was fine. she was discharged a short time after me. We are both doing well and so gald we chose this path.

Well I had my Psych eval too funny!! I was asked a few funny questions and I really thought she was kidding and then sent on my way. I can not understand the whole need for that appt, but I guess if it gets my surgery covered so be it. My next appt is July 18th the big appt day, I have my upper GI, Weiner ctr consult and Nutrition appt. My next appt after that is with Dr Lautz August 10th 5 days before my surgery. WOW, I can not believe how fast time is flying by, I really thought I would go out of my mind waiting for the time to pass, but it really is flying by. Well I will update more later.

So today was my big day my consult with Dr. Lautz. Everything went well he was very nice as was was his PA. How funny is Eileen OMG she is a hoot, love to see her in the OR just to have her laughing before going under. Dr. Lautz was very nice a little quiet and a bit reserved but very informative and that is what I want not a Dr. that can juggle and tell jokes. I was very impressed with his knowledge and feel very good about the decision I have made. I had blood work done and my appts scheduled for Psych, Nutrition & upper GI all July 18th. Then came the BIG date August 15th WOW 2 months away... OK I really did not want to have to wait 2 months but I know these things do not happen over night. So, I am thinking I will have to take up so type of meditation to get through the next 2 months so I do not go completly crazy.

What a day I got really sick this morning and ended up in the E.R. and was told I had to have my Gallbladder removed. During surgery my Surgeon found that I had a fatty liver (wonderful). Before I was discharged I was told if I did not lose weight now my fatty liver would develop into cirhossis of the liver and within 10 years things would be grim for me. I thought how can that be I do not even drink alcohol. Hello you are obese!!!

4/24/06

Saw PCP and explained everything asked about the Lap Band procedure and he thought I would be a good candidate and he backed my decision 100%. I decided if I am going to do this I want to have it done at one of the best hospitals by one of the best surgeons in Boston. So, I that is how I came to Dr. Lautz at Brigham & Womens.

4/25/06

Well called Dr. Lautz's office and they were SO nice. I have my Info session date 5/9/06 and my consult date with the Dr. on June 15th. My goodness I am soooooo excited. I can't believe how quickly things seem to fall into place. I called my insurance and explained everything, I have Tufts HMO and they said given my BMI and the gallbladder & Liver problems the surgery would be covered 100%...can you say YIPEEEEEEEE!!!!

I feel like I am not only getting a new lease on life but a chance to be the person I have wanted to be. It is as if I have been trapped in this body that has not belonged to me. Well I will write more after my info and consult..til then

5/16/06
Ok, well I have no patience. I went to the info session at Brigham & Womens and it was so informative. But, I have no desire to wait until the 15th of June for my consult with the surgeon. Like I said I have no patience. I want to wake up to my surgery date, I am so tired of being the big girl. I had a follow up formy GB surgery and I lost 4 lbs WOW big deal is how I really felt. 4 lbs jeez I can gain that back just thinkg about it. Ok, feeling a little bitter today really wanting to call the surgeons office and ask them to try to move my appt up t an earlier date. Anyway, it's probably all this wonderful weather we are having here in southern NH it can't be helping the mood in anyway. That's all for now I will update when I finally meet with the Surgeon. Til then..
