Gemütlichkeit is the Germanic notion of Kindness. It literally translates as to make others cozy. Ken Glassmeyer is an expert in Gemütlichkeit. He is the editor of SERVE! Magazine. He is a retired teacher working on a novel, THE TRIGGER EFFECT, which is based on his experiences including his key involvement in the only school shooting and hostage situation in U.S. history that was resolved without injury or fatality. In 2005, Mr. Glassmeyer was named Ohio Teacher of the Year. He recently published an article with the Ohio Resource Center on using literacy to curb school violence: A Fistful of Literacy.Ken has worked with churches in the Midwest since 1985, designing and innovating a number of outreach programs over the years. He currently leads a "not-so-small-group" bible study in his community. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications and a Masters Degree from Miami University. He is available as a speaker and consultant. For information on fees and availability, contact KINDNESS RESOURCES LLC.

In the spring of 2007, Ken had his first heart attack and discovered that he had CHF.  He experienced rapid weight gain as his condition worsened and he became less and less active.  By the fall of that year he was over 465 lbs.  He had his second heart attack in November of that year while breaking up a fight as a teacher.  His cardiologist introduced him to Dr. Tom Sonnanstine.  He had his RNY in late March of 2008.  He is now down over 200 lbs just a year later and rode a bike for the first time in years just last weekend!
