Alfons Pomp

"A world renown bariatric surgeon, I chose doctor Pomp after thoroughly researching doctors in the NYC area. His reputation was very impressive and he is currently the chief of bariatric surgery at New York Presbyterian. My experience with him from the day of my consultation to now has only been positive. I had my surgery 10 days ago (RNY) and it went off without a single complication or issue. My stay at New York Presbyterian Weill-Cornell was a polar opposite experience of this.I was without a functioning bed the first day + night of my stay and slept in a highly uncomfortable lazy boy recliner which barely worked---the hospital staff during my stay was awful that first night (rude, unresponsive and careless). The second day of my stay was better after requesting not working with the same two nurses again. I refuse to let that change my opinion of Doctor Pomp and his team however, I feel this is solely on the hospital and I did lodge a complaint with patient services at the end of my stay... My aftercare experience so far, after the horrendous hospital stay, has been good however. Doctor Pomp called me literally as he was finishing up a surgery today to answer my concerns (I am currently experiencing quite a bit of pain and wanted his input on it). He is a genuinely caring and professional surgeon, without a doubt."
