NOT real happy w/Call center

Sep 02, 2008

On August 14th I talked to Heather at the Call Center.  She said she has all my information and will fax it out to Aetna today!  I should know in two weeks to 30 days what is happening.

Fast forward to August 29th.  I called Aetna and they said they never received anything!!!  This did not make me happy!
So I called Heather back.
She said, "oh yes, it's right here, I'll fax it today".
Same thing she told me two weeks ago.

Sept 2:  I called Aetna, they didn't receive it.  Called Heather back, she told me it was sent to Aetna at 4:30 pm  to 1-860-975-1664 with the attention to medical review.  She said it was 79 pages.  I called Aetna again and they said that was not their fax number.  The Verizon Dedicated Unit fax number is :  1-860-907-3739.  Called Heather back with that information and she said she would fax it out today.  Tune in on Wednesday to get the update.      Dianne

Meeting w/Surgeon - Dr. Peter Lalor July 18, 2008

Jul 19, 2008

We had to wait for quite a while to see Dr. Lalor as he was very behind on his afternoon appointments.  But it was well worth the wait.  I am
so excited I can hardly bear it.  How good is our God Huh???  So good that He loads up a bunch of information into doctor's heads and puts them forth into the surgeons hands.  My diabetes will hopefully be over and done with by the end of this year, if not the end of September.  DH and I had a terrific meeting with Dr. Lalor.  He is very personable and knowledgable.  He answered all my questions and calmed my fears.  He takes every percaution imaginable before and during surgery.  I assume after surgery will be just as good.  I am going to get the vertical sleeve.  He wants a couple more tests done which I will get done this week as DH is on vacation.  Dr. Lalor submitted my information to Aetna and I should hear back hopefully before 3-4 weeks.  Then, in the meantime, I meet w/Dr. Dawley, the internist who basically rechecks all the paperwork, etc.  He's kind of a double-checker for the doctor.  Then they call me for an appointment for the surgery.  He said 4-8 weeks should be about the time frame.  I told him that I originally
thought around September.  I have to do a 2 week liquid diet before the surgery.  Then 2 days before the surgery it's a CLEAR liquid diet.  Surgery will be performed at Wood County Hospital.  He said I may go off the diabetes medicines the day of surgery or a few weeks afer.  Everybody is different, but most people, once they have the surgery, are totally off the diabetes meds.  Isn't that just a miracle from God???

Surgeon found! July 16, 2008

Jul 16, 2008

After praying earnestly for weeks I have decided to go with the new doctor at Wood County Hospital.  His name is Dr. Lalor.  I attended his seminar last evening with a friend.  He seems very knowledgable, and he enjoys what he does.  He seeks to make people healthier.  That is also my goal.  He seems very passionate about what he does.  I have an appointment with his this Friday, July 18th.  I will take my hubby and hopefully know more then.  Feeling really good about all of this today!

Searching amongst the surgeons

Jul 09, 2008

July 9, 2008 - I have my last appointment with my dietitian next Monday and hope all goes well.  I hope to know at that time WHO is doing my surgery and WHERE it will be performed.  I've lost 6 lbs. sinse I started seeing the dietitian 2 and a half months ago.  This month has been bad for me,  as far as exercise is concerned, as I sprained my ankle 3 weeks ago.  It's still sore but tolerable.  Please keep me in your prayers regarding this surgeon/hospital issue.  Only God can guide me through all of these decisions.  Thanks!!!
