I made it!  Dr. W. did his magic and I did great with my surgery.  He found a little bit of scar tissue from my c-section, but it wasn't a real problem.  Sutter Roseville is awesome!  The entire clinical staff there treat you with respect and the upmost of kindness.  I have my appointment tomorrow morning to have this icky JP drain pulled.  YAY!  Also, I made my airline reservations to fly to Chicago on July 12th!  (Told ya Meg)

I received a call on my way home from work at my surgery has been moved up to June 17th! Hospital School will be on the 12th (the last day of school!). This is really rushing at me now, so I'm jumping on the train and trying not to freak out. Meg had to go back to Chicago this morning and cried at the airport because she was afraid I was going to die during surgery and she wouldn't be there. I told her I had no intention of dying and I would see her in Chicago sometime in July and would be a little bit skinnier!!

I met with Dr. Waldrep yesterday and went home with my date!  JUNE 24th will be my new lifedate.  I'm so excited and can't wait to be able to exercise and be out of pain (and buy clothes in a regular women's department).  Our family is taking a 10 day cruise to the Southern Carribbean during Christmas and I hope to be able to buy a regular sized swimsuit by then!

I called my PCP today to check if Healthnet had approved the referral to Dr. Waldrep.  They said that they were still waiting for the authorization so I got on the phone and called Healthnet myself. Forty-eight hours is the normal time for authorizations to be made and mine was submitted on the 18th of April.  The customer service rep said " oh yes, you were authorized to see Dr. Waldrep on the 18th."  I almost ran the car off the side of Interstate 80!  I called back my PCP and told the office assistant that I had been approved and to please fax the authorization over to Dr. Waldrep's office.  I wonder if the PCP's office was just not looking or what?  Anyway, I'm thrilled that I am really on my way!

I'm still playing the authorization game with Healthnet and my PCP.  They just didn't get the process of how to refer a patient for WLS.  Last week they sent the paperwork in the medical group instead of to Healthnet so right from the beginning I was put on "hold".  Terri from SALSA left them very precise directions how how to process the papers, so I am still waiting and sweating!  Wish me luck pls!.
