Hi, to all I am new to the site. I am part of a weight loss program called Metabolic, or MET . I have been trying to lose weight for a while now. I currently way 241lbs, I hope to have the lap band surg. In order for my MD to give me a referral I have to complete this program . Which is one year!!! I started in April 08, I had to see a psych MD once, i go to a dietitian once a month and physical therapy once a month, and a Endo MD every three months( well i call her my fat doc) this is were she draws labs work. I also have to attend 4 group meetings about weight lose. In the month of Feb, I'm going to ask my Md for a referral for surg, i really hopes it gets approved, wth the insurance comp. I phoned the insurance comp, before i started this program to see if the band was covered , they stated yes as long as you try some type of weight loss unsuccessfully for 12 months. So this brings me to this new journey!
