I was a beautiful blonde baby girl and then I turned five years old. It's been UP since then. When I entered kindergarten, I was so fat my face looked like a pie with two slits for eyes and of course, I was grinning ear to ear. I stayed very "round" into high school and that's where my poor dieting skills began. With the help of diet pills, and there were many, I was into a size 16 for graduation and in my mind was a movie star! Married at twenty-three. First pregnancy, some problems and my wonderful doctor, Dr. Danny Clark, Somerset, KY insisted that I only eat fresh fruit and vegetables and by delivery date, I weighed less (before delivery) than I did when I became pregnant. Did I learn anything...no.... Second pregnancy, ballooned and kept it. From there I went from diet to diet, with Weight Watchers being the most successful with losses of up to a hundred pounds but then I would get haughty and think I could do it on my own...WRONG! After several such attempts, I gave up and thought I was doomed to live and die fat. Thank God for a wonderful husband who has stood my me no matter what my weight. Several friends have done the lap band surgery with great success so they encouraged me to attend a seminar and speak with a surgeon. In sharing information, my surgeon determined that I was a better candidate for RNY. My surgery was on March 23, 2009 so I'm very new to this. Really looking forward to my healthy journey!
