Kira Schofield

"I have had a wonderful experience with Dr. Shofield. Now I must preface this by stating that I was extremely impressed by the dedicated staff they have aquired at the WISH center in Springboro Ohio. While the wait left a bit to be desired...The personell there sold me on that place before I had even spoken to the surgeon. At first I had met Dr Ranjit Singh. He was very polite and professional, answered all my questions as clearly as possible.. ans was even familiar with many of the hospitals/surgeons I had been researching. It wasn't until my 2nd visit that I met Dr. Shofield. At first I was caught off guard. She could've been my mothers twin. The similarities were amazing. That right there set me at ease. Then, talking to her, hearing how bright she was and how "straight to the point" she was on our questioning proved to me just how seriously she took this job and why I should have no fear being under her care. She is very adimant about followup care. Has a very strict dietary/exersize regimine that her staff clearly explains to you. Each visit to the WISH center you meet with the Psycologist, Dietician, Exercise Physiologist, nurses and surgeon. Each person works with you to make sure you will have sucess and be prepared for the new you. They have a support group (that meets whether online or at the hospital) that you join that is there to assist you in each step of your journey. So far I have not been to a meeting, so I cannot voice an opinion on them, but the topics I've been shown are interesting. My main concern was that there were a few things I didn't understand and was not explained as clearly as I would have liked. As in the Spirometer. I was sent home after watching a short computer training session that mentioned the breathing apperatus, however, I was never told what setting I had to have it on to "practice" pre-surgery. I was never told that, on top of the Spirometer, that the nurses at the hospital would bring in yet another breathing treatment that was MUCH more difficult than what I had been prepared for. I had been told that I would have 5 small incisions... I was not told about the JAckson Pratt drain until just days before surgery and was never told that it would be an additional incision. While it was mostly just slightly uncomfortable, I was concered that I had not been prepared for another set of staples. All in all I would recommend the WISH center hands down. While there were a few minor instances in which information was not relayed. Nothing that happened was beyond my rational nor did any of it make me doubt myself, my choice or my surgeon."

Middletown Regional Hospital

"The ONLY negative I have about the hospital is the constant waking. Every 30 minutes you are woken up for your vitals, a breathing treatment, another medication, an IV change... something. I did not get very restful sleep until I was released. However, all the nurses were very friendly and empathetic. I would recommend this hospital highly to others"
