i had the lapband in 2004 august in mexico i was very successful with it. i went from 250 5'8 to about 145. then i ran into trouble with it . i was rushed to the hospital in may of 2009 after many months of suffering with it. it had slipped and the dr in the us had tried all kinds of stuff to get it to unslip.but alas they didnt work. once it was removed in may of 2009 i thought okay i am n ot going to gain any weight. ha ha i gained about 50 pounds. well i did some research and found dr alvarez and wonderful susan (his nurse) well we talked and set my surgery for a vertical sleeve on 10/17/09 at 201 pounds (oh my god) well 7 months later i am at goal weight 155 pounds and i love it like no other. dr alvarez was great his staff was great and the care was stupendous. but ...... my greatest admiration and gratedfulness goes to susan who started talking to me about the surgery and how well i would feel and so normal . i mean i can go out with my family and eat like a regular person just smaller portions and guess what no vomiting. like i said dr alvarez was wonderful and you wont go wrong with him
