I had the Lap Band placed in 2008 and developed chronic acid reflux. I could not sleep for nights on end, going through a box of Kleenex nightly coughing up ick.  I couldn't get down any veggies or fruits, and ended up seeking crackers, milk, cheese, ice cream to calm the acid. I finally had the Band loosened in 2011. I felt pretty humiliated that I had failed and ticked off that the Drs. didn't have any solutions, and got a good case of the damnit's, and regained the 45 lbs I'd lost. I really appreciate reading the similar stories on the Revision site that evidence my experience was not unique.

I am scheduled for a revision to Bypass in Oct. 16, 2013. I have done a slew of research to learn the common factors of those who succeed, because I intend to be the best darned success story I can be.

I have trepidation about not being able to enjoy the delights of cuisine. I am going to have a very strong 'moderation' muscle, and use my wisdom to say NO to choices that will sabotage the maintenance of the weight I am supposed to be.

I have faced that I lead too sedentary a life (work is basically hours at my desk) and our body is not designed to be healthy sitting in a chair. I am now committed to daily exercise.

I am prayerful that I have no complications and that I succeed in my commitment to reach my Right weight and stay there. And then move on to more interesting adventures.
