YEEHAW!!!!! I got a call this morning from Western Bariatrric scheduling. I got the calendar out expecting to have a date in september/october and they scheduled me for july 16th!!! Holy cow! I can't believe that I have been at this for 2 plus years and then all the sudden here it is, 6more weeks of waiting. All the waiting before seems like nothing. I can't wait for the NEXT year to go by now!

Yesterday I recieved a letter of denial from my insurance company. It said that there was enough documentation from the Dr. that I had completed the 6 month supervised diet. I was livid! The insurance said to file an appeal and see if my Dr. would help out. As luck would have it, I had a Dr. appt. today. The Dr. called up the insurance and by some miracle, I was approved. YEHAWWW!!!!! Just waiting for the approval from the secondary insurance and then a surgery date. I can't wait.

Well, I bought a membership to the gym May 01, 2008. I did 1 hour of cardio and 1 hour of lower body and ab training. After the first hour I thought I would die but, then I started getting a rush. It felt great! No fatigue the whole day, and I was going all day long! I am stoked about this working out thing!
I called Aetna insurance today to see where my claim was at. They said it was in "pending" and that they had requested more info from WBI and that WBI had up to 30 days to respond. ARRRGGGGHHHH.... the waiting!!!!!!

Well, I guess threatening to get a new Dr. did the trick. The nurse called me the next day to say that my letter of support was FINALLY done and faxed to WBI. Then Western Bariatric Institute called the next day to say that they were sending me in for insurance approval on Friday, April 25th. Now I am just waiting for both the insurance companys. Lord I hate to wait!!!

Went to the doctor today to try to get the letter of support and it was not pretty. He still didn't have the dang letter and I gained another pound! (that will teach me not go out drinkin while I am trying to diet) I left his office totally distraught. I just wanted to throw my hands up and say screw it to the whole dang thing. I settled for some sugar free chocolates and a crying session with a friend. I called his office back later in the day and told them I was seeking another doctor. We will see if that gets me anywhere.......

Starting pre-op weight loss

I started the 3 week pre-op diet on 04/14/08( I figured why wait any longer) that I got from the "steps" class I went to last week. It's only been a few days but, I can sure feel a difference in my mood, my energy level and the scale says I have already lost 3 lbs. Now I just need to get started on some serious exercise!

Today was my last Dr. appt. for the 6 month Dr. supervised weight loss. I have completed ALL the requirements for insurance approval ( and then some) Now if I can just get my Dr. to get the letter of support in I will be happy. I have been nagging him for 4 months to get it done. I have resorted to calling his office 2-3 times a day.
