My heaviest weight!

Apr 11, 2009

I have always been able to take a picture from my chest up and you really couldn't tell how big I really was.  Luckly I have a long chin so in a Perfect angle my face could look thin even at 292lbs.  But since Digital Cameras whenever I took  picture if I didn't like it because it was what we call a "fat Picture" I would delete it.  I don't have any body pictures from when I was my heaviest.  They were Too painful to look at..... and now that I have lost 49lbs I wish I would have kept some as a reminder.  Well Yesterday I was looking at my God Sisters wedding pictures from October of last year and Yup you guessed it... she has body pictures of me at my heaviest, 292lbs.  I couldn't delete those pictures or they wouldn't be there lol.  When I used to look at pictures of me back than I would feel like my heart would drop into my stomach but this time I WAS EXCITED!  It was a reminder of how far I have come!  I can't say it enough...  "I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE I HAVE LOST THIS MUCH WEIGHT"

I still can't believe it!

Mar 29, 2009

So in order to get my surgery even scheduled I need to be at 243lbs.  I started at 286lbs and Now i'm 247... I'm SOOO CLOSE!  Kaiser has booked me an appointment on TUESDAY to  see Mental Health so that I can be cleared for Surgery!  the next step is just to lose 4 more lbs and I can call and schedule my surgery!  AHHHHHH even now i'm excited because i'm the Lightest I have been in my adult life!  and I was able to do it without surgery!  But one of the most annoying questions is... "if you can lose 40 lbs why would you need surgery"  I'm so scared to gain it all back like i have in the past and others in my family.. my health depends on it!  I get SOOOOO excited when people notice that I have lost weight!  My best friend hadn't seen me in a long time and she literally called me her HERO cause i looked great!  I FEEL GREAT!!!!  AHHHHHH

about me

Mar 08, 2009

Well I'm the girl who has been big since the second grade.  Luckly I have always felt comfortable in my own skin.  I was never picked on as a child.  I always was surrounded by great amazing friends and family.  I come from a big family so it was the Skinny people who always looked "sick".  One of the comments I have always been told is ... Yeah you are big but you have a pretty face!  WOW is that a compliment?  Thank you?  I think...  Reality really sunk in when at the Age of 26 My liver enzymes were high and some cardiac enzymes were also creeping up.  I remember thinking to myself I AM 26 YEARS OLD!  Working in the medical field I knew where i was headed.  Because I don't drink alcohol I knew that my liver enzymes were  high due to my obesity.  For the first time in my life I was afraid to die young.  So I asked my doctor, Whom I also work for, to refer me.  At first he said I didn't need the surgery and that I could do it on my own.  But after we talked he decided my mind was already made up.  I couldn't get in my car without getting out of breath.

At my heaviest I was 292lbs 5'6.  In order for me to get my surgery I need to get down to 243lbs.  I started a 1300 calorie diet and working out 3 days a week and before I knew it I had lost 20 lbs in one month and was going to the gym 7 days a week.  I hit a plateau and i kept working out more than ever.  Finally my doctor told me to Stop working out if i wanted to lose the weight instead of gaining muscle.  And To my surprise when I stopped going to the gym and just sticking to my 1300 calorie diet I started losing more weight.  I have lost 30lbs as of 3/8/09 and I am 8lbs away from starting the Final process for my surgery.
