09/02/04 20 months and still kicking! I'm feeling like I can eat more normally now, but haven't started to gain anything back so I'm happy about that. The fear of gaining it back really doesn't go away, does it?

I'm the co-chair of the Walk From Obesity in Waukesha, WI this year and couldn't be more excited about it! It is September 18th at 9:00 am at WCTC in Waukesha!

07/01/04 - 18 months post op already! WOW. I'm down almost 140 lbs. Had my gall bladder removed in January and feel GREAT! It gets harder to keep the eating under control later on but it is still very manageable!

6/13/03 Well, I'm 6 months post op and down 100 lbs. I can't believe I've made it this far! I've regained a life! I've been to Six Flags and could ride all the rides! I no longer worry about taking up too much room at the movies or picking the strongest chair at a picnic! I still tend to eat too fast and feel nauseated when I do. I can tolerate some sugar so that is a mixed blessing! I've met so many wonderful people since my surgery. I am truly blessed with some awesome new friends! 4/29/03 I'm 4 1/2 months post op and down 85 pounds! I feel great! I'm so happy I made this decision! I'm starting a new online support group. You can check it out at

02/12/03 I'm now 8 weeks post op and finally feeling good again! I had a rough time of it all. I spent 5 days in the hospital because I was having some trouble getting liquids down and I was in a lot of pain. I'm a bit of a baby though and have a VERY low tolerence for pain. I'm all for pain meds! I ended up coming back to work after 4 weeks but could only handle half days for the first two weeks because I was so tired and weak. I had to go back twice for a scope and dilitation because I was having trouble keeping food down. Now, I can eat but still have trouble with meats. I'm getting a little better with food and stronger daily! I've lost 40 lbs in my first two months! That is WAY cool!

12/01/02 WOW, is time flying. My surgery is in 11 days. I'm a little nervous and a LOT excited. I just want to make it to the other side safely and get started on my new life. I have been so blessed to meet so many wonderful people on my wls journey already!

11/11/02 I've got an ANGEL! I've been blessed to meet Peggy and she'll be my angel through this whole process. She's truly an inspiration as her surgery was almost a year ago and she's doing very well.

10/22/02 I'VE GOT A DATE!!! Just when I wanted it 12/13/02 - Friday the 13th. Should be interesting!!

I am looking forward to seeing my surgeon for a consult on 8/22/02

The consult went well and it looks like I'll be having the Laproscopic RNY. I loved the surgeon. My paperwork was submitted to insurance 8/30/02 ...patiently waiting.
