Yikes! I hope the scale keeps moving!

Sep 23, 2009

I am at a plateu (not sure if I spelled that correctly), and I'm hoping that I'm not eating too much and that my weight loss has stopped.  Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with losing the 61 pounds that I have lost in the past 5 1/2 months.  October 8th makes it 6 months post op.  According to the charts for my bone size and height, I should weigh between 120 - 141.  I'm still 29 pounds over weight.  The abdomin and thighs are the last to go.  I have no butt, I still have some boobs but not much.  It's been hard trying to figure out what size bra to buy.  I think I will need a tummy tuck and boob lift when this is all over!  LOL  I hope I'm still on track and that the scale will start moving again.  Should I be worried that I'm eating too much or is this normal?

HELP! Going to be a bridesmaid in December

Jul 12, 2009

I have a small problem, I'm losing a lot of weight and don't have any clue as to what size I will be in December.  I am going to be in a close friend's wedding as a bridesmaid and she now needs my measurements to have the dress ordered.  I have put her off for two months now but it's getting down to the deadline.

Before surgery, I was 230 pounds and 5 feet 2 inches tall wearing a size 18 on top and 20 on bottom.  I'm now 185 pounds at 3 months post op and wearing a size 14 on top and 16 on bottom.  I tried on a dress by the same maker as the dress she has selected but cannot find the actual dress.  Here's the dress The dress I tried on was a size 16 and it was a little tight.  I'm thinking I should have her order a size 14 but the dress can only be sized down 2 sizes at the most.  By December I will be 8 months post op.  What do you think?  Thanks for any help.  Is there anyone else out there with the same size as me at surgery that I can compare to?

My measurements right now are 39 bust, 34.5 waist, and 46 in the hips.  I have lost over 7 inches in the hips since surgery, YEH!!!  With this dress, I think I need to focus on the bust and waist area since the skirt part over the hips will be more flowing and not tight against my body.

9 weeks

Jun 05, 2009

I have FINALLY hit ONEDERLAND!!  It feels so good to be below 200 lbs finally!  I thought it would never happen.  I'm working out now and sometimes I feel like I eat too much but am making progress.  I have lost 5 inches from my hips already!  My problem now, my clothes are too big but I like that problem.  Sometimes I wait too long in between eating and still cannot find that protein shake that I can tolerate, but all is good and I'm glad I had the surgery.  I'd do it all over again.

Just wondering

May 17, 2009

The first month, I shed 23 pounds.  In the past two weeks, I have only lost 2 pounds.  Is it normal to have this little of weight loss in the 5th and 6th week?  I guess I shouldn't weigh everyday but I can't help it.  My husband says to look at the big picture I've lost 26 pounds in 6 weeks.  That's NEVER happened in my entire life.  We're going to FL in about 6 weeks and I was hoping to have 40 lbs gone by then.  I need to get back to the basics I guess, get back to drinking more protein shakes but still haven't found that one that I like.  Need to workout more too but it's hard with no energy.  When does the energy kick back in??

Update

May 03, 2009

Week 2 was kind of rough, I went back to work after the first week and all was ok until I hit the second week of being back to work.  I had a lot to catch up on but absolutely no energy. I was very nauseus and had horrible leg cramps.  All of that has subsided and now doing pretty well.  I'm ready to eat real food though instead of pureed.  Everyone at work has noticed the weight loss and my clothes are getting too big.  I went shopping the other day and it wasn't too much fun.  The good news is I'm smaller but since I'm short it's hard to find clothes that fit.  I've been a Lane Bryant shopper for years, almost everything I own is from LB.  I could grab things off the rack or order online and it always fit.  Now, since I'm in Hawaii there is no LB so it's hard to find clothes now, not to mention, I don't want to spend a lot since I know it would be long before the new clothes are too small.  I'm happy with this dileema though

Nine more pounds and I'm in ONEDERLAND!!  I have my one month post op with Dr. Fowler on Thursday, I've lost what he has expected so I'm sure it will be a smoothe appointment.  Unfortunately, I'm horrible about drinking my protein shakes and taking my vitamins but trying really hard to get them in.

Surgery 4/8 to now 4/14

Apr 14, 2009

I was wheeled into surgery on 4/8.  I met with Dr. Fowler and Dr. Z in the pre-op room and after Dr. z put something in my IV, I don't remember anything until I woke up in post op, to nurse Polly.  I then went to my room where my sister, husband, and son met me.  I was up walking the halls about 6 hours later and went home the next day.  I've been at home recovering and doing well.  I've had a few days of being nauseous and it's hard getting in all the protein and vitamins.  I have, however, already lost 12 pounds.  I can see it in my face already.  I'm excited, ready to be on the road to a slimmer, healthier, me!

My current goal is to lose 40 pounds by June 24th, the day I leave for our trip to Florida for a wedding.  Most family and friends there don't even know I have had this surgery, so it will be a huge surprise and I'm looking forward to it
