I finally have an awesome WOW!

Mar 06, 2008

Today I got up the nerve to inquire about plastics. I weighed in at 177 {YAY} and my doc says I should lose about another 30 to 40 lbs. befor going for plastics. My floppy arms are driving me crazy, though.  I'm having a hard time seeing myself at that weight. I feel great now, and I guess I'm just chicken. I think my weight loss is slow partly because I still use insulin 2-3 times a day, and insulin is a hormone. Just yesterday I fit into a size 12 shorts -- I just could not believe it. I was astonished, and I cried. I have not been this size since I was about 11 years old! That was my totally WOW moment, and I just had to share it with everyone.

****I hate how expensive plastics are!****

Update!

Oct 21, 2007

Oh, I'm so bad. I have not posted in sooo long...

After my last post I did have to go to the hospital for 3 days to be re-hydrated. I have learned to drink, slowly, although now I can "load" on fluids which is great. I have lost a lot of hair.... along with all my pounds. But I think that will stop soon, or I will run out of hair to lose!

Currently I'm at 192 lbs. I had expected by now I would have lost more. I do have some sagginess, but that was expected. I'm still injecting insulin, just not as much as before. (I still use 70/30 and R, and I inject twice daily, as opposed to 3-4x daily). I was recently told by my doctor that since I have type II diabetes, it is usually not totally resolved with gastric bypass. HMMM.... before, he had told me otherwise.

I am feeling great and I'm able to eat a variety of foods. I don't have much trouble with overdoing it, and every now and then I eat too fast and still get the "brick-in-the-pouch" feeling. I would like to reach my goal of 100 lbs. weight loss by my surgery anniversary date of 12/27. So I would have to lose some 20 lbs. more in about 67 days. I think I can handle that! I also have fallen off the wagon as far as counting my proteins...it seems these days I'm counting carbs a lot more with my diabetes management. I am happy to say that I can now tie my shoes, snore less - if any, my husband doesn't sleep at the foot of the bed, I no longer wake up with numb fingers, and I can RUN and play with my babies! I took them to the park just recently and I slid down the big slide (an enclosed tubular slide) with one of them! Before I'm sure I would have gotten stuck!

So I am doing well, and my new goals now are to lose 30-40 more lbs. (per my doc.) so that I can begin looking towards a total body lift with breast and buttock augmentation!

Love you guys!

Had my surgery and I'm back!!

Jan 02, 2007

I finally had my surgery on 12-27-06 @ 8 AM. It took longer than we expected because my doctor is extremely particular about his procedures, or so say the nurses. All went well, thank The Lord. I did have some discomfort for 2 days due to my drainage tube pushing up against my diaphragm and touching the nerve that goes to my left shoulder, and that made it very uncomfy and even hard to breathe in deeply. Once it was removed it was heavenly! I have been home since Friday 12-29. But I started having reflux sunday afternoon, and today it has just gotten worse. I'm unable to keep hardly anything down; I throw up everything. I can take sips of water every now and then but I know it's not enough. So I'm having discomfort, and it doesn't feel good. :(  On a lighter note, I don't have any other kind of pain, and if it wasn't for that I could probably run a few miles. Also, I have lost 13 & 1/2 pounds total as of today! (I have never been able to say that!) My doc will tell me on Thursday if I have to go back to the hospital to be re-hydrated. Wish me well!
