Pre-op testing today &Surgery in just 2 weeks!!!

Well, got through all of the pre-op poking and prodding today. Looks like things are set to go for the 10th of next month. I can't believe that is only 2 weeks from today!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sooo ready for this. Everyone keeps asking me if I am getting scared yet. I still have the same peaceful feeling about this that I had the first time me and God discussed this and I decided it was right for me. It has been a long time coming I started this journey 2 years ago, but I believe I have been lead to have the procedure that best fits me in the place I need to be, . Everyone that had a hand in my care today was wonderful. I go through my nutrition class tomarrow, then back home for 2 weeks.

DIDN'T GET MUCH SLEEP @ THE SLEEP STUDY

Well I went for my sleep study last night. I don't know how they think you will sleep when you are hooked up like lights on a christmas tree! Had like 10 leads in my head took 5 washings to get all the goop out! I just knew I would hang myself with all those wires before all was said and done.But I'll more than likely be going back, and then end up with a c-pap (yuk!) On a good note today though, I FINALLY got an appt. for the psych eval. I go to have my head examined the 3rd of September.( I hope they find something in it!!!!LOL)

Had the 1st meeting with the nutritionist today. Seems like after every 3 sentences came " if you do this..... you will vommit".Well, she had me after the 1st time seeings how that is my least favorite activity in this world!! She did also pass on lots of other great information though, so I guess all in all it was a good visit.Although I think the best part was getting to talk to recent post-ops out in the waiting room.
Well I'm guessing this is gonna be a wild ride!!!!

Boy I am really glad to have found this site. I have already found some good info from a few of the posts. I am new to all of this. NOT being obese that is, but the concept of WLS. I went to the information seminar on the 13th of June, and had my first clinic appt. last Fri. ( 07/25/08) not what I expected. Everyone has been SO nice. Only downer was that after the seminar I was leaning towards the Lapband, and when I met with the doc, he is recommending the RNY. So, I guess that's why he went to med school huh? LOL.After he explained it all, I can see why. I was just going for the least invasive I guess. They pulled 9 tubes of my blood!!!! Boy if I weren't anemic before I might be now.LOL Got my appt. set up to see the nut and the sleep study ( oh joy ) Well, the nut called on Tues. and gave me another handful of pills to take . B-12,Vitamin D, and calcium citrate+D. WOOWHOO! Add these to all the rest and I could actually make a meal of them.Ah, well.....it'll all be worth it.
