Lisa is doing Great today, She called me at 7am to tell me that she is feeling much better today and has gotten out of bed several times now. She asked me to thank everyone for their wonderful support, many of the girls who've had bypass surgury this last week are stopping by her room and it's very very supportive for her. This is Lisa's first surgery. I myself had gastric bypass lost 225 lbs and have maintained my weight-loss 4 1/2 years without a problem. Also my Mother who is with Lisa this week also had Gastric Bypass at age 65, so we are very happy for her and know that this is a wonderful thing and I'm so happy she can have it so young and not have to wait until she is older developing the major medical problems that I had. I've told Lisa she will love the fact that Gastric Bypass is like a Sister/Brotherhood of the most wonderful people in the world. My God Bless them!

Hello Lisa - your mom posted the good news, you're through surgery and safely on the losing side!!! Woooohoooo, Congratulations it's finally a "reality" and your day is here! This is a second chance to LIVE life again. No words can express the freedom that comes with this surgery. My humble advice? Walk as much as possible after surgery. It'll be tough at times and you'll find that you'd much rather cuddle with your pillow then get out of bed. Don't!! Get up and walk, walk and walk it'll help with the overall surgery and recovery results. As your body begins to heal make sure to get in your protein, even if it means plugging your nose and chugging back the drinks in baby [pouch] gulps. Vitamins need to be chopped, minced or crushed... whatever it takes to get them in daily, no exceptions, YOU are worth it. Also, let's not forget your new best(est) friend, water. It is SO important to get your minimum 64 oz in daily. One final thing, CELEBRATE all the special moments along the way, big or small. Too many people focus only on numbers, ie. pounds lost. There are so many "moments" to look forward to and embrace on this journey - don't let any of them slip by. Enjoy your new healthier life, you've more then earned it!! NOTHING tastes as good as thin feels!! ....Hugs and smiles : )
