Hi Lori! I saw your question regarding protein bars. I just had my lap rny on January 10th. I love the Isopure Dutch Chocolate Powder. In order to get 70 gms. per day. I use 2-1/2 scoops plus crushed ice and ice water to make approx. 18 oz. You can put it in a blender, and it actually tastes like a chocolate shake, because it will thicken up. I have also been adding 1 or 2 small scoops of No Carb ice cream which also makes it really yummy! Take care and I wish you a speedy recovery! Aloha, Pat from Hawaii

Just spoke directly to Lori after not being able to find out much last night after the surgery. She is in ICU and has had to have 6 units of blood. They thought at 2:30 AM that they were going to have to re-open her to see where the bleeding was coming from, but decided to wait and watch for now. Her hemoglobin had dropped to 4, so that is terribly low. The good news is that her WLS went fine. They were suppose to remove her gall bladder and her spleen because of a chronic problem with low platelets, and they did get the spleen, but were unable to remove the gallbladder. She said the removal of the spleen is what has caused the problems. Anyway, we need to pray for her that she willnot have any further complications and be home soon.
