Update

Feb 26, 2007

Over 4 months out, for some reason it seems longer!!!  Down to 157 in the mornings and 160 later in afternoon.  Seem to be losing a bit slower, could be in my head.  Still lost 11 pounds past month according to my curves weigh-in.

I can't believe my BMI is now in the Slightly overweight catagory, another 12 pounds and I will be considered Healthy, what a strange feeling.  Sometimes it seems so strange because I feel like the same person, but I know cloths are fitting different, and my jeans are way loose.  I have cleared out a lot of cloths from my closet, could have worn them still with a belt, but I didn't like how they were fitting, so decided to clean house!  I have done a bit of cloths shopping, but only from clearance rack!

Everyone is noticing the weight change, and that feels good...just can't wait to say I made goal.  I have about 15 lbs to go to my docs original goal, and 25 lbs to get to our latest goal.  Doc says anywhere btw 130 and 140 will be good.  I am so looking forward to being at goal and not being overweight for once in my life.

Down 58 since surgery and 78 lbs forever

Still the Same, no stall yet!!!

Feb 09, 2007

Knocking on wood as I dare write this, but all is going well and have not stalled yet.  Hoping to get to goal by the end of April.  First thing in AM I am weighing in at 161 lbs.

Still have same bowel issues, must be me.  I am dealing with it, as docs advise was same thing, MoM.

I think I am still in shock that I continue to lose weight.  I find it strange that my husband thinks I am changing, but honestly it is the same ole me!!!   I did go get my hair cut (shoulder length), he thinks it is too short, but I love it, and I covered those gray's!!!  I will have to get some new pics posted.  I also bought a junior size 11 low rise jeans, that I thought to myself there is no way these will fit, but bought them for inspiration.....well guess what, they fit!  So happy, have worn them to work twice and get lots of compliments.    Can still wear all my old cloths, although some require a belt to stay up, what a feeling.  Will need to start buying some new shirts soon as they are drooping on me.  What a wonderful feeling.

My family is always complimenting me, sometimes I don't see the changes, but they are always reminding me.  It is so nice to finally be doing a life changing diet that I feel so good about and truely believe will last a lifetime.  I have never felt the way I feel right now about food.  It sustains me, but does not overpower me.

Weight 168 - 52 lbs since surgery and 67 since consult gone forever.  Looking for 140 -130 for goal.

Humm Drumm

Jan 21, 2007

i don't know why, but I am feeling humm drumm.  Still having trouble with bowel movements, and I have noticed this seems to be directly linked to my weight loses.  I have been trying to not take Milk of Magnesia, but once again it has been 6 days since anything!!!  Last weight change was 7 days ago, I see a pattern.

I will discuss with doc on next appt, 1-31, and see what he says!  Maybe I am not getting enough fruits and veggies, as it is difficult to get that and all protein in, I get too full too fast.

I did have a wow momment for me last week.  I am down to 169.4 in the AM with no cloths!!!  I have not been in the 160 - 170 range since who knows when, I would say close to 17 years or so.  So that felt good, but stuck there all week!!!  Hoping it will change in a few more days.  With cloths down the 174.5 at curves scales, and it seems to match doc's scale, so that brings grand total to 41 lbs gone post op and total from preop gone forever is 61 lbs!!!

Only 34.5 to reach doctor's goal of 140 lbs.  I can hardly believe that one!!!

Update

Jan 11, 2007

I just noticed I haven't put anything here since Christmas.  Well, as you can tell by some of the pictures, we had a good time over the holidays.  But, I now know that me and alcohol, are off limits until I reach goal.  I stalled for almost two weeks on the weightloss, I was freaking out!!!  But finally this morning I was down 3 lbs, so it seems I am on a roll again.

I have found that doing the IDS 42 gram protein drinks, split in two for two servings, per days, fit my life style and taste perfectly.  I mix half with half an energy drink, and it taste like a fruit soda.

I have also been trying to get my protein ...  lots of eggs and tuna.  The tuna is really satisfying to me right now, and feels me up.  I also, usually do one string cheese a day.  Sometimes a few nuts or beef jerky.  And, also lately have been enjoying a chili bean soup I made with some ground beef and ranch beans, it was so yummy, a half a cup is so delicious and satisfying.

It is strange to only be 37 lbs away from my doctor's goal. Although I would like to lose 47 lbs...we shall see.

Total loss to date, 58 lbs preop, and 38 lbs since day of surgery.
58 pounds gone forever.

Happy Holidays

Dec 26, 2006

Well, here is hoping everyone enjoyed there holidays.  It is the first holiday that I probably haven't gained a couple of pounds in a very long time!  Hoping I haven't stalled, but all is well.  On Christmas eve I did have and enjoyed about 1/2 a tamale, with some beans and rice.  My hubby finished what I couldn't.  And, all the desserts looked great, but I didn't have any!  It was the first time, however, that I really wanted to have some.

All the family that had not seen me in a while noticed the difference.  And, I will have some new holiday pictures to update my profile soon.

My weight is hovering between 182 and 180 with cloths and without I am 178!  I told my hubby the other day that this is the first time I actually weigh less than what is on my driver's license!!!  It has been stuck at 190 for many years now!!!

Hope everyone else enoyed their holidays.  Off shopping I go.  Jody

Doing Okay

Dec 18, 2006

Haven't posted in a bit, still doing ok.  Somedays it seems like I eat every couple of hours, and others like I hardly eat.  Still seem to need an energy drink at work at night, going to try to break that habit.

Down to 185, which is 50 pounds gone since consultation and 30 since surgery.  I am very happy with the results, although my mind still plays head games telling me it is going to stop.

I broke down and ordered some protein drinks online, I hope I like them.  I am trying Achiev One and some 3 oz fruit flavored ones...Gotta get that protein in.

I have also started munching on beef jerky every now and then to get some protein in.  Started adding some fruit as well.

Clothing size hasn't changed too much yet!  Yes my jeans are loser, but not so much that I would need new ones.  I have started wearing some of my dress cloths that were too tight before, and I imagine in another month or so they will be way too baggy, cause they are loose now, but fit good.  Usually all my clothing is tight.  Now they fit great, like I like.  Coworkers have commented that they can also tell the difference, so that is progess.  I think it is just hard for me to see...

Also, still constipated.  Seems I have to take Milk of Magnesia at least once a week just to get one or two decent bowel movements, but if that is what it takes, so be it....I have always been constipated!

50lbs gone forever, and 45 to goal!  Wow, doesn't feel like I am half way there.

Down another 5 lbs.  Yeah! Still not seeing weightloss in tummy.  My pant size is same, maybe looser on legs, but same on waist.  I don't know if this is typical, but it is different than other times I have lost weight and weighed this amount.  But, I do see loss in my arms, legs, back, neck, and face.  Hubby notices when I don't , so that is good.  Still trying to get protein in, hard to drink shakes....just tired of taste and time it takes to consume, feel like that is all I eat.  Barely eat a dinner or breakfast whatever you want to call it, I work graveyard, so my BK is in evening!

On a good note.....25 lbs gone forever.

Happy Thanksgiving

Nov 22, 2006

My frist WLS Thanksgiving!  So happy I will be able to taste everything....I even made 4 sugar free pies, apple, lemon, banana, and chocolate...only plan to try the apple, it smelled so good when backing.

It will be weird to be sitting and watching everyone else eat so much, while I can barely have 3-6 bites and be done, but it will taste oh so good, yummy!

I'm hosting it this year, so up early in the morning to get it all going!

Weight seems to still be averaging 2-3 lbs a week.  195.3 at doc's last week, and scale  reads 193 this week with cloths and 189 without!  yeah.
