Never have a been so excited to be under 300 pounds. Walking around doent feel like a chore anymore. I feel completely able to get up and start doing things. I have finally went shopping for new jeans, which is amazing because I never used to fix into jeans. I was a size 32 before surgery and I barely fit into it.. they were known as my tight pants. As of right now I am in a size 22 and They are baggy on me. I am so excited. 13 more pounds to go and I will have offically lost 100 pounds since surgery!!!!

Finally Did It

Dec 23, 2007

As of December 19, 2007 I recieved my Gastric Bypass. I was admitted into North East Baptist at 1 pm and waited till about 5:45 pm before starting my surgery. I was put into recovery and into my own room around 10 pm. I stayed in the hospital until friday december 21st. As of right now I am on the road to recovery. I have 5 major cuts that they took the staples out of. They cut out my drain Friday morning after it was stuck to my skin from the tight stitches. I was supposed to be sent home with a pain ball that is inserted into your stomach, but it created to much pain and was removed before I was discharged. As of right now, I still do not regret the surgery. Many of the other patients were men where I was placed. All day and night I heard them cry because of the pain that was caused to them, but I did not shed a tear. I figured that this is the start to my new life and why waist it crying on one of the most happiest moments. I am now able to get up and move around. I am excited that my christmas will be with my family and a new me. I think that it is one of the greatest decisions I have ever made, and one of the first things I have ever followed through with. I have a lot of support from my family and friends, and I believe that is what helpe me pull through this. I started at about 420 pounds before my diet. After being placed on the Diabetic diet and the protein shake diet I had lost up to 30 pounds. Right before surgery I weighed 388. The doctors did not want to do the surgery, they wanted me to loose another 50 pounds which really disappointed me, but they followed through with my wishes and did the surgery. I lost 8 more pounds the last few days before my surgery. As of right now, it has been 5 days since surgery. I have lost another 8 pounds weighing in at 380. My best friend has spent every waking moment video taping before the surgery and after. Checking my progress in hopes to get me on Discovery Health.. haha..  I would recomend this surgery all the way, and I hope that I can check in here and help anyone with questions.
