Wow, it is now Sept. 2007. My, how time flies. My leukemia is in full remission, and even though the chemo that I take daily has a small effect on my weight (is 20-30 lbs small ??), I have still - 5 years after GBS - maintained my weight between 170 and 190, with my norm being around 175. I really need to update my photos !! Life is still great. My sister, who also had GBS, lost a total of approx. 100 lbs, also, and she looks great. She still throws up from time to time but she is adamant that losing all that weight and gaining so much self esteem is totally worth it. I have not had any problems in the past 5 years from my surgery. I was very blessed. Unfortunately (fortunately??), I can still eat a normal size meal ... but I can't OVER eat in quantity at one sitting. We all need to be careful, though, about eating too many calories in the form of many smaller meals or snacks (especially high calorie snacks!) I am still very, very happy with my decision to have GBS. It truly changed my life for the better. I am now 5 years from retirement from my job with the state, and am embarking on a new career in copywriting and also in real estate investing. Many irons in the fire : > I will update my profile again, hopefully much, much sooner than my last post, with new pictures and additional information. Until then, Wishing you many blessings : > Libby
