I never imagined I would be proceeding forward with  WLS.  See, I used to weigh over 447 pounds.  Yeah...kind of closer to 450, but not quite there. To weigh myself at home (when I finally got enough backbone to weigh myself), I used two scales.  Ummm...how embarrassing.  I literally stood with one foot on one scale and another foot on another scale and added the two weights together because I weighed more than the standard highest weight scale you could buy off the shelf (which was 400 pounds).    When you have to stand on two scales to weigh yourself, its time to pick yourself up off the couch, stop crying (I literally had a major melt down when I saw just how heavy I was), get your head out of the sand and do something about it.  So....I decided to fight for me, because I was worth it.

I lost 154 pounds in the pre-op weight loss stage...Way more than I was expected/required to lose before surgery.  As a former SMO, I knew the more weight I lost before surgery, the better off I would be.  Plus, it allowed me to get in the VSG mindset months before my actual surgery.   If I couldn't hack it then and stay on plan before surgery, I knew I wouldn't be successful after.
