Hi everyone...., My name is Marla and my new journey is about to begin. I'm a little scared but a big part of me is very excited. I have struggled with my weight most of my life and tried every diet out there . I felt like I was a diet queen...lol... I have considered having surgery for many years, but some family members were totally against it ...thinking I was crazy to consider doing something so drastic.... I made the decision to put those feelings aside and do what I know will be the best choice for me. I talked to my primary care doctor over many many months and she finally agreed to give me a referral to see a surgeon. Knowing this was what I wanted to do I was very pro active before my consultation with the surgeon. I had the psych evaluation and met with a dietitian twice. When I had my appointment the surgeon said I was very determined, and I am....I moved forward with the process and I'm already approved thru my insurance...My date with my surgeon is 10/21/08....I'm so excited and look forward to a healthier future....
