I've not updated this for ages.  A lot has happened in the last 2 years.

When I was 2 years post op, I started having hypoglycemic issues.  It took almost a year to finally get a diagnosis of nesidioblastosis.  That's when the beta cells of the pancreas go into hyperdrive and chug out way more insulin that my body needs.  To make a very long story short, last June I had 60% of my pancreas and all of my spleen removed at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

Since that time, my blood sugars have been better, but I still do drop, altho not as low.  But since surgery, I now have iron deficiency anemia and need iron infusions.

So if someone were to ask me if I'd do RNY again, I'd say absolutely not.  I have less energy than I did when I was obese, and I do everything right as far as vitamins and supplements.
