Hi everyone - Sorry it has been SO long since I posted a blog.   I will try to do better - Promise..:)  I am 7 months out and I have lost 97lbs - WHOOO HOOO and I feel great!!!  This has been the BEST thing that I have EVER done for myself.  I would like to lose another 20 or 30lbs.  I was 286 when I started this journey and I am now 189!!  It feels great! 

I haven't been on in awhile I have just been really busy...I went from my 3 month post op appointment about a week and a half ago and I had lost 61 lbs.....WOOOO HOOOO.  I think I have lost about 3 or 4 lbs since then....

I went for my 2 week post op appointment today and I have lost 25LBS....YIPPPEEEE...He said that everything looked good and that I was doing great...

It is one week after surgery.  Surgery went good. Doing good I believe I have lost about 23 lbs so far...WOOO HOOO..I am recovering from the surgery pretty well...I am still really sore but I am doing good.  Having a hard time with the protien shakes, but I am managing.  The WORST pain I have had is dealing with my RA and Fibro while I am off my meds.  I have had a lot of severe pain from the RA because I have been off my meds since May 1st and I can't go back on them until about 2 weeks after surgery.  I have been taking my pain meds from my surgery to help with the soreness and pain, and sometimes it doesn't even seem like it touches the RA pain.  I took it about 10 last night before I went to bed and I was up at least 4 times last night hurting pretty bad.  But I CAN make!!!  I am ready for the losers bench!!!  Thanks for listening!!

1 week until surgery...I can hardly wait.. I can't believe I am this close to starting my new life!!  I have been on the "protein shake" diet for a week and according to the scales that I bought from Wal-Mart last night I have lost 10lbs...However, I am not sure how accurate that is because the last time I weighed was at the doc office and I'm not sure if the scales are weighing me the same...but I sure do hope it is accurate.. anyway..I got a call from the "patient testing" last week and they said that I tested positive for "mercer" so I had to go get a Rx filled and now I have to squirt this sh** up my nose.  It is like a cream and I have to squirt it up my nose and It feels horrible and I can taste the medicine running down the back of my throat...YUCK!!  I also have to wash in the soap they gave me a few more times, but that is no big deal.  I am getting so exctied, I am counting down the days!!!

I'M APPROVED!! I'M APPROVED!!  I HAVE A SURGERY DATE!!  MAY 15th!!  I got a call a few min ago from Dr. Chapman's offithey gave me a surgery date of May 15th.  I am SO excited I can hardly stand it, I have called everyone I know..(except Abby, sorry girl.  I forgot your # at the house and Im at work..but you were one of the first people I thought of to call...)  I have been dancing around the office like a maniac...LOL It can't get here fast enough!! My pre-op appointment is April 30th @ 1:00pm and I start my protein diet on May 1st.......YIPPPEEEEE!!!     

I had my decision appointment on 3/26/09.  I am getting SO excited.  He said that all my tests came back ok.  He said that my left ventricle was a little weak but he thought it may have been from the conjestive heart failure that I was in about 4 or 5 years ago and that it is common in people who are overweight.  He didn't seem to concerned about it so I'm not too concerned either.  He said I was good to go and that he would be submitting my letter for the insurance company.  He said that it usually doesn't take BCBS very long to approve it.  He said that they are usually pretty quick because they (Dr. Chapman's office/Hospital) are considered a "center of excellence"....whatever that means..:)  I also got my protein shakes for my pre-op diet.  I have to drink 5 shakes a day, for 2 weeks prior to surgery.  He said I should be having surgery in about 4-5 weeks.....YEAH!!!  Whoot Whoot!! He said they will be calling me in the next couple weeks as soon as they hear from the insurance company.   I am SO waiting for that phone call!

I had my nutritionist appointment on 3/16/09 in Greenville.  I really liked the nutritionist and I learned alot. I am so ready to start feeling better.  I feel so bad, I am tired all the time and have no energy.  I also went to my first support group meeting on 3/17/09, I really enjoyed it.  It was very interesting and got alot of helpful information.  I am getting closer and closer and I am getting SO excited & nervous....I hope everything goes well...

I had my Psych Eval and my Echo on 3/10....Getting closer and closer to my surgery.  I am getting really excited and scared too...I hope things go well and I'll have a great outcome.  I am so ready to start feeling better.  I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.  I am hoping that the surgery will help with the Arthritis pain and the Fibro and give me some energy.....and of course I can't wait to be a "HOT MOMMA".....Nut eval is scheduled for 3/16!!

On Feb 27th I had my Upper GI and Lab Work done...All went well except that they had to stick me 4 times to get my blood....OUCHMy veins were obviously not cooperating...They stuck me in the bend of my left arm, then in the bend of my right arm, then on right wrist bone, they finally got it on my left hand between my knuckles...I have a pretty high pain tolerance but I must say that HURT!!  YEE HAW!!  It will be all worth it in the end....I am getting so excited...
