This week

Has not been the greatest.  I had my 1 month follow up on Monday.  I'm down 31 lbs which is good.  The Dr. wrote me a script for the nasal spray B12 like I wanted.  Other than that I haven't felt very good.  My energy seems to be low but I'm doing my best to get all my protein.  I need to start tracking it.  I'm getting between 50-60 grams a day.  My water intake sucks so I'm working on that.  

I've experienced my first bad pouch days this week.  Now I don't mean I'm throwing up or anything, it's just that it seems kind of grumpy, even with food it's used to.  I don't know what's up with that.  I think I finally dumped on some Greek yogurt with fruit.  I didn't like it, but I was excited I did it because now I know I dump.  I was starting to get worried that wouldn't happen and it's a natural detterent to stay away from certain foods.  Luckily I figured out what it was pretty quickly and I was able to keep it from getting worse, but the lesson is still learned.

I start "real" food next week.  It's actually kind of scary.  I bought some canned chicken so we'll see how that goes.  I made some egg salad this week and my pouch was able to tolerate that much better than the scrambled eggs so chicken salad may be on the meal planner for next week.  

I'm looking for some good hot protein drink recipes so if anyone is reading this and has one, please send it my way.  I need something relatively easy to make at work.

First blog

I have been thinking about doing a blog so here I am.  I'm not sure anyone will care or what I should say so I guess I'll just post whatever.  

Today started ok.  I walked almost 3 miles.  It took me an hour, but I did it.

I've been eating scrambled eggs all week, but they sit in my pouch like a rock so I switched to oatmeal for breakfast this morning.  It was ok.  I already eat beans and mashed potatoes for lunch and dinner so I'm worried about the carbs.  Guess I'll be going to the grocery store this weekend so I can have more protein than carbs.

I go to the Dr. on Monday for my one month checkup and I should only have one more week of soft foods.  I'm excited to eat something different yet scared of the repercussions of the bad stuff.  I guess I can just take it a meal at a time.

Work has been a rollercoaster today.  Thank goodness some coworkers can make me laugh because others make me want to run around in circles screaming.  At least if I did that it would be more excercise.  LOL

I plan to do some cooking and cleaning this weekend so hopefully I'll be better prepared next week with some healthy food.
