On December 26th, 2007 I had my Lap-Band surgery done. The doctor said I went through surgery with flying colors. My weight at this point was 371 lbs. In 2003 when I first started lookining into Gastric By-pass I was at a wopping 474lbs. When I met with Dr. Colquitt in march of this year(2007) I was still at a wopping 451 lbs. He wanted me to complete my six month doctor recorded weight loss, (for Medicare), and loose at leat 23 to 45lbs, which of coarse was 5 to 10% of my current weight. I lost a total of 80, and my final weigh in at the support group (T.O.P.S.) I am in, I had achieved a total loss of 103lbs. I was so ready for this surgery, and my new life to begin. My T.O.P.S. group (Chapter 232) in Florida was always and has still been very supportive and inspirational to me. I currently live in Tennessee now, and at first the T.O.P.S. group here wasn't doing much for me. It seemed more like a weekly social gathering, than a weight loss group. Thanks, to my wife, son, and myself, along with a few members, that were willing to revive the group, it has now become a better group. Well I will keep up on the updates of my progress.
