Ok I am getting close to D-day (I hope) 4/20/10

Apr 20, 2010

Ok so I am close to D-day. I am heading into my 5th visit to the nutritionist and have already obtained my psych eval (I have body image issues- imagine that), and completed my blood work. According to Dr. Gorman's office, they will send all my paperwork to my insurance (Capital Blue Cross) and hopefully they can set me up with a date. I am feeling cautiously optimistic.
I was a little disappointed a few months ago when they told me that 6 months of visits to the nutrionist was needed not 3 like we thought. It worked out well. I have been able to save up more leave.
Some days I wish my surgery date was here. It is very hard for me to make a decision then have to wait to do it. This has been a lesson in patience- for sure.
I am still not sure what to tell people at work. I dont want to tell anyone that I had bariatric surgery. I have  a trendency to be a private person. I do have a great support group. I also cant believe that I know at least 4 people who have had WLS. I just thought they had a fantastic diet. I dont feel that my work environment is supportive. Lots of backbiting. Oh well. I still know that this is the right decision for me. I researched it and even watched the surgery online (Hartford CT Hospital) many times to familiarize myself with it. I am getting excited (cautiously)
