Donald Waldrep

"Dr. Waldrep is a kind and highly skilled bariatric surgeon who completely empathizes with the plight of the morbidly obese. Since he PRIMARILY performs weightloss surgery and had done over 200 operations by the time I had my surgery with him (Aug 02), you know you are in good hands. So far he has never lost a patient. The only negative thing I could possibly think to say about him is that I didn't get to meet him until about 10 minutes before my surgery. This is not uncommon for his patients nowadays. I have met him several times since then and my opinion of him has only improved on each occasion. You really couldn't ask for a better surgeon or a better hospital experience (at Sutter Roseville). Thomas Hopkins

"Dr. Hopkins is THE doctor to go to if you are considering WLS. Pre/post op patients are his primary practice and he knows what he's doing. Having him as my primary care physician probably knocked months off of the time I had to wait for a surgery date. His office staff is great, too, very encouraging and so helpful. When I first told him I wanted to have the surgery, he gave me a very specific list of the things that i needed to have done, so when i first met with the surgeon (yesterday), i had finished all of the requirements and was able to be scheduled for the next surgery appointment available. He's just a really cool guy. He's also the doctor for a local news station, so you can see him on tv(which I didn't even know about until after I met him in his office and saw all of the TV equipment there)."
