My name is Marcella May but everyone calls me Marcy. I had my surgery on April 21st, 2005. I weighed 384 pounds. I was blessed in that I had no complications at all. I praise God for that. I was very good at doing every thing I was told down to the letter. After I healed up well I started exercising daily. I go to Curves For Women, I have a Nordictrak, I walk a lot and when it is nice outside I bike. When I am alone I dance also for the exercise.  I am still working on losing more. Currently I weigh 215 and I want to lose more of course.
I have  had a weight problem my whole life. I have tried every diet known to man and nothing ever work. I just kept getting bigger and bigger. Before my surgery my mobility was so bad that my husband had to do almost everything.  He even had to assist me in my bathing and dressing. I was about to try to get a scooter chair because I could not even walk a block. I was first told about Dr. Alex Argotte by my Obgyn, but I was very scared to even think of it because I had known two people that died after thier surgery. I did much reseach about Gastric Bypass surgery and did much checking about my surgeon reputation. I knew that I had to do something because I knew I would not live much longer. I had very high blood pressure and I could not get my sugar under control and I have fibromyalgia. Which is a very painful condition, and the extra weight made it even worse.
After meeting with Dr. Argotte and hearing what he had to say we started  all the test he makes everyone go through. I had family members and some friends that were very afraid for me to do this. They would say "You know you could die doing this", and I would just say "well, I am certainly going to die in the shape I am in". So, with much prayer and the support of my husband and my children I did it, and I have never regreted my decision for one second. I have a life again. I am more active than I  have been in decades. I am loving every minute of my life! Before I end this I have to brag on my wonderful husband. He was sent into my life by the Lord and I am so blessed to have him. He was and still is my number one angel.
I am looking forward to making friends on this site. So contact me and we can share our successes together.
Much Love, Marcy May
