Ernest Rehnke

"My surgeon is Dr. Ernest Rehnke. I first met him at one of his support group meetings and was very impressed with him. Dr. Rehnke was very friendly and I introduced myself to him after the meeting and we chatted for a few minutes. He told me if I thought of any questions that I should make sure I wrote them down and brought them with me to my office visit. He has a great sense of humor and answers any and all questions you have. His office staff has always taken their time to answer my questions or return my phone call right away. When I met him for my first office visit he did not make me feel rushed - even asked me if I had any other questions for him and told me that if I thought of anything after I left just to call the office. He is very emphatic about the risks of the surgery and wants you to understand the risks involved. I had my surgery on Aug. 27th, 2002 and I have to say that Dr. Rehnke's bedside manner it out of this world! I have never in my life met a doctor who is a caring as he is. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate him as a 20!!!"

St Anthony's Hospital

"The only time I received quality care was the 2 days I spent in ICU. After I was moved to a regular room the care was terrible. I was in the regular room for 4 days and my sheets on my bed got changed twice. I had to ask every time for the supplies and water to take a sponge bath. A piece of gauze was put on my g-tube on Thurs and never checked until Mon. when I was discharged and that was because I took the gauze ogg during my bath and saw that there was an infection at the site. I told the nurse about it and all she did was clean it with saline solution and told me to do the same at home. I was dehydrated and had to ask everytime I ran out of ice chips I had to ask for more - they never checked to see if I had any or not. I heard one nurse say to another, while they were giving the lady in the bed next to me a bath, I don't have time to do the LARGE lady. I was just waiting for her to come to my bed and I was ready to tell her a thing or two. And they all seemed to have the same idea that because a person is overweight that we can only lay in bed and can't get up and move around ourselves. I would never go to this hospital again, even if my life depended on it!!!!"

Nelson Neives

"Dr. Neives is the most caring physician that I have ever met. He has been my shining star from the very begining. "
