A New Me....A New Life

Dec 13, 2010

My name is Mary Clark and I had gastric bypass on November 9th 2010.  Dr. Arthur Chasen is my surgeon and I just love Dr. Chasen.  This surgery has been the easiest surgery I have ever had in all of my surgeries.  I never had any pain (not even in the hospital) nor have I had any nausea!  I could say that I have been the perfect patient surgery wise.

So far to date I have lost 32.4 lbs. I can tell somewhat in my face but others really can tell.  It's all very strange to me being that I've not lost this amount of weight EVER! I've only gained in the last 10 years.  I've not always been this big but knew that if I wanted to extend my life I had to do something drastic and quickly.  I chose having this surgery because of the serious health issus that plague my family.  My mother was one of seven children.  She had a sister who had kidney cancer-but didn't die from it, a brother who died from kidney cancer-his son died from kidney cancer too, another brother has two sons that have a kidney disease-one son has had a transplant and the other has the disease but no transplant yet.  My sister has had kidney cancer-removal of the kidney was the cure.  Both parents were diabetic.  My father had polycystic kidney disease (which is hereditary).  There is two aunts who have had breast cancer...one survived ...one didn't. My father was heart patient...two open heart surgeries.. 12 years apart.  You name it...we got it.

So as you can see this is the reason I had to have the weight loss surgery! So far I have no regrets and I look forward to my new ME and my new LIFE!
