My Story
Apr 22, 2009
I have been overweight my entire life and have tried every different diet out there to try and lose it. My highest weight was 305lbs, about six years ago. I was then diagnosed with Type II Diabetes and met with a nutritionist and was able to lose 100lbs over that year. Over the next five years I was slowly putting the weight back on. My Diabetes got worse and I was put on insulin four times a day plus pills, I was also put on high blood pressure medicine and cholesterol medication. I got back up to 240lbs. I decided to go with gastric bypass to help me to lose the weight and possibly help me with my Diabetes. I had surgery on January 14, 2009. I weighed 235lbs the day of surgery. I left the hospital off of all of my insulin and within a week, I was off of all medications. I am so happy that I had this surgery and wish I had thought of it years ago. I am now three months out and have lost 57lbs and I am at the lowest weight I can remember being and feel healthier than I have ever felt.
