Surgery Date scheduled

Jan 02, 2009

To start my first blog, I have not always been overweight. Most of my teenage and early adult life i was what I call the perfect size, and I can't wait to be that size again. I had my daughter at 21 and hit 200 lbs with her. I then got on the depo shot and my weight kept going from there. Then I had my son in May of 2007. And at my 6 month after his birth I was weighed and was at 303. OMG I couldnt believe my eyes. I was embarrassed and I couldn't believe I let myself get this big. So I looked into bariatric surgery and after much research I decided on the RNY Gastric Bypass. The process was actually pretty easy for me because I already had all my medical records and referal going for insurance purposes. The surgeon put in for my surgery and all the testing and my insurance company, TriWest (military) approved it the NEXT day! I thought it would take longer but it didnt. Everything was good with my tests and belief it or not I am completely healthy (except for my weight of course) So Dr. Hachem scheduled my surgery for January 6th and I am almost there.  I am a little scared and nervous but can't wait to begin this journey. I have been on the liquid diet for two weeks now and have so far lost 11lbs.  I am down to 292 and i still have a couple more days to go. I'd like to be at 290 when I go into surgery. My surgeon says I have exactly half my weight to lose, so 150. I want to be at 140 in the end. Here's hoping that happens!

Well that's enough for now but I will update when i get home from surgery next week!
