Hi everyone. I just got home from seeing Melinda and Stephanie at the hospital. They both came out of surgery just fine. Both were in a lot of pain. Stephanie had severe pain and had nausea...that was to be expected. Stephanie also ended up having a hiatal hernia, so the surgery took a bit longer than expected. Melinda's surgery was earlier during the day. Melinda had already been walking the halls and eating ice. Stephanie didn't get out of surgery until a little after 8PM, but she didn't get up to the room until about 10PM. Hopefully both of them will get some rest tonight, but I doubt that, since they were both in so much pain. It was wonderful meeting and visiting with Stephanie's husband Clay and daughter Hailey. They both said that Dr Barker looked exhausted when he finished Stephanie's surgery. Well, let me tell you, so did Stephanie! I am glad they were both there to help her out throughout the night. Melinda had a really great friend staying the night with her to help her make it through the night. Please keep both of these beautiful ladies in your prayers and thoughts during their recovery. I am including their pages, if you want to stop by and give them some well wishes! http://www.obesityhelp.com/member/steph55/ http://www.obesityhelp.com/member/melindarn/

Hi everyone! I wanted to give an update on Melinda. I stopped by Doctor's Hospital tonight to leave a goody bag for her and Stephanie, since they are surgery twinkies. Melinda had her surgery early during the day. She was doing really well. She had been in quite a bit of pain and had finally got some pain meds. She had already walked the halls and was eating ice....so she was definitely showing very positive signs. They had given her some medicine that finally was allowing her to get some rest, so I didn't stay long. She had a great friend staying the night with her. Hopefully we will hear from Melinda when she gets back home. So far she is doing really well. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Angel, Lindy

Monday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

Best of luck on your surgery in a few weeks. You are in great hands with Dr Barker. The Terrell Troopers is having a support group meeting this Saturday at the Starbucks in Terrell, off of I-20 and 134. We would love for you to join us. Most of us are Dr Barker patients. We have lots to share. We will be praying for a successful surgery and supporting you when you make it to the loosing side! Let us know if you need any help or have questions. That is what we are here for. Hugs...Lindy
