Well today has been a really good day. I went back to see Dr. Scott for a follow up appointment. And he was so happy to see that I have lost 45 lbs. Dr. Scott is going to apply for insurance approval. He wants me to start my all liquid diet. To help boost my weight loss and get ready for surgery. I am so excited it feels like there is actually a light at the end of this tunnel. Thanks to all that have kept me in their prayers. I will update again soon.

Wow has it really been that long since I last posted?? Where does the time go?? Okay let see if I can fill in the last 3 months without written a book. Hmm :)
As you know I got into see Dr. Scott. He wanted me to lose weight and when I left his office I was really discouraged. I wasnt giving up totally. But I did want to give up on him. So I went back to Dr. A in KC, MO. BIG MISTAKE!!!! He has totally blown me off. Did my Physic Eval. Took me 3 months to get my report from him. Plus when I saw Dr. A he told me he wanted me to lose xxx amount of weight. Ok I have heard this somewhere else. No problem if this is what it take okay. Right?? Wrong. Now he wants me to see a Weightl Management Dr. to help me lose some weight before my surgery. I saw Dr. A on the 5th of Oct. But I wont be able to see the WM Dr. until Jan or later in 2006. And trust me I already called. It doesnt matter if I lose all the weight that he asked me to lose in order to get a surgery date. He still wants me to go see this WM Dr. What the heck is this??? Plus at the first of the year he is no longer taken any Medicaid people. So all my time with him is wasted. Oh well live and learn. Thats what happens when I try and handle things my own way.
So okay I am back on track or so I think I am. lol I have an appointment with Dr. Scott on the 18th of Jan. Then the next day I do my all day long class with everyone (the one I have to pay for). I am hopeing they will accept my Physic Eval that I just had done. Because I cant afford another 300.00. I started out with a BMI of 88.7 now I am down to a 77.5 I know it isnt much. But I will take everything I can get. So thats where I am at with my journey. And trust me it has been a journey. But Praise God I am going to make it. I will update more again after the 1st of the year.

Okay I went to my consult. Not what I really wanted to hear. But something I can work with. I need to be cleared thro a Pulmonary specialist before surgery due to my COPD. I need to lose some weight to make the surgery safer. I need to have a Cscan to determine how big my hernia is. I got back to see him in 4 weeks. I will posted after I hear anything else. I am bushed the trip totally wiped me out. We left @ 7am and didnt get home until 11pm. My hips, knees, back are killing me. I hurt in places I didnt even know was there. lol Thanks to all for the prayers. And a Big thank you to Ardie for meeting me there!! Marla it was awsume to meet you also!!!

Well tommorow is the day. I am getting all my stuff together. We are going to leave early in the morning. I think we will proabley spend the night. I am nervious and scared and excited all rolled into one. I want to have this surgery so much. I am afraid that he will say NO for some reason. But I cant think of the negitive right now. Or I wont never sleep. lol I will post and update how it all went.

Sorry it has been awhile since I last posted. I got discouraged when I called Dr. Scott office to find out why I havent heard something one way or the other. Well when I filled out all the paperwork and mailed it in. They needed a PCP referall after all. (I was told they didnt) So my PCP faxed them a referal. Well it didnt get into my folder. So anyway things are back on track. Thro ones fault of there own. I understand that they are really busy. Now all's I am waiting for is approval with my insurance. I am glad I have been checking into 2 Dr. instead of one. I still have my appointment in Sept with Dr. Augustine in KC. I have just one more support meeting to go. I went and got all my blood work done that the Dr. require. So I will be set to go when I go to my appointments. That way it saves from all the running back and forth. I will update when I hear anymore.

Okay I am updating my page again. I have had a wild last 2 weeks. My father took a fall down the church steps and broke his ribs on his right side. So my hubby and I was down home taken care of him. When my g-ma fell in the bathroom and fractured her left hip. We spent 6 days in the hospital with her. She is now back in her home town with my parents and her sister at a rehab place. She will be back home in 2 weeks. Plus my father is feeling alot better. Still cant lift but is able to get around more. Anyhow while I was in the hospital with g-ma. I called home to check my messages on my maching. And Praise God I got a call from Dr. Scott's office. Wanting to set up an appointment for my consultation. I get to go see him on Sept 28th. I am soooooo excited. I have been waiting for this for so long. Now it really seems like it is within my reach to be on the other side. I have just had all my bloodwork, x-ray, and pft done within the last 3 weeks. Plus I am getting all my Dr. notes from my PCP & the surgen that has repaired my hernia's before. And I want to check into going to his support meeting before my actual appointment. That way all I will need to do (hopefully) is do my Pysic Evalv. I am just so excited to finally meet him and go from there. I will keep this posted.

I didnt go to the support meeting this month. I wasnt feeling very well so I didnt feel like a 3 hour trip. I will go again in July. Still nothing from Dr. Scott I called his office. They told me it usually takes 2 months to hear back from them one way or the other. Okay now I feel alittle better. Getting ready for the 4th of July. My hubby and I are going to my parents house for a family reunion. Looking foward to seeing all my family again. I wish you all the best and write again when I hear something more.

Dr. Augustine's office called today to set me up with my first consult with the Dr. It isnt until September. But I am still hopeing to hear from Dr. Scott just because I hear he does hernia repairs also.

Well here I am 2 down and 1 more to go. The meeting was packed full. I have to chuckle to myself when I set in the room and look around. I know somewhere the has to be hidden camera all thro out the room. Why do I say this?? Well close your eyes and think about a room jammed full of overweight people of all shapes and sizes. Got the pic in your head? Okay now visiualize chair with arms on them. You know the ones where just one of your butt checks balances on when you try to squeeze into it. Without bring to much notice to yourself. lol This whole room is filled with them. More people have made comments about those chair. Sorry it was kind of funny in a sad way. Here we are in a support meeting for overweight people and this is the type of chairs they use. Other then that the meeting went pretty well. Next and last meeting is in June. Will keep ya updated. Still no word from Dr. Scott. Hopefully I will hear from his office soon.

Well I went to my first support meeting in KC,MO tonight. There was alot of people there for the meeting. Meeting was very informative they had several people that have already had surgery talk to us about how they are doing. Got to hear the pros verses the cons. What the death rate is for every surgery. Things that you really want to know so you know inside yourself your maken the right decesion. Got to speak with Dr. Augustine himself. He was there for the entire support meeting and afterward stuck around to answer questions on a one on one bases. I go back for my next meeting in May. Will let you know when I hear anymore.
