Confusion to feeling at peace...

Well...it's been a few days since I talked to someone to get set up for a seminar on bariatric surgeries and I am feeling more at peace with my decision. I had initially contacted one doctor's office who really left me hanging...unsure of what I was to do or what was coming. I had to call them back to clarify when I was to go to this seminar. I was told it wouldn't be until November and that was basically the best they could do at this point.

I looked around for another doctor and actually found they had a website all about bariatric surgery which was so informative! I called for information and also to see if I would be able to get into a seminar faster than November. The lady on the phone was so nice and made me feel so at ease. She was so understanding. I could have actually gotten into one in September, however, I will be at the beach....so it's set for October 7th.

I am actually getting a little excited. Hoping that all goes well and my insurance will pay for the surgery. I know they will as long as you meet the criteria. From what I have read so far and the quizzes I have taken, it looks like they most likely will pay. I do have to pay 20% out of pocket, but that is a small amount compared to the big picture. I also know I will save money in the long run on obesity related health conditions.

You know...the word obesity is something I have never liked. I never considered myself obese...my BMI tells me I am MORBIDLY obese. I tried to justify that it was just a label the medical community slapped on all those who were overweight. To me a morbidly obese person was someone you see on Oprah who is 500 + pounds. I have finally come to terms with the fact that I AM morbidly obese. I have so many obesity related medical issues and I am sick and tired of it! I want to be normal and healthy. I pray this is the right decision and the right thing for me in my life.
