LOVING LIFE!

Nov 03, 2012

10 months out and have now lost 155 pounds!  I feel absolutely great.  I did have a little bump in the road last month, I developed an internal hernia and had to have it repaired.  It really was no big deal.  Recovery was quick and I'm almost back to normal.  Hope this finds everyone else doing well and have a happy holiday season.

125 Gone For Good!

Jul 31, 2012

Seven months and 10 days out and have now lost 125 pounds!  Reaching new goals everyday.  I was taking a walk one day and my own brother passed me and did not know it was me.  I was pissed that he didn't wave or blow the horn at me but I got over that pretty quick knowing that I've changed so much my own brother didn't know me.  Loving it!!  Going to the ocean this weekend, can't wait.  I love the sun now and love to sun bath, hoping to have a great time with my new found freedom.  My goal is to climb to the top of the light house while on vacation, I don't for see it being a problem.  Until next time all take care!

100 POUNDS GONE!!!

Jun 06, 2012

Can't believe how long its been since I posted, but getting skinny makes you crazy busy!  I am 23 weeks out and have now lost 100 pounds.  I can't believe it!!  I feel so good and so energetic, life is great.  I still thank god and Dr. Small everyday for this gift/blessing.  My exercise of choice is push mowing, I love to mow and it is making incredible changes in my body.  My clothes sizes are dropping faster than I can keep up with, now I have to change clothes 3x because there to big, not to small.  What a delightful change!!  Good luck to all and enjoy the incredible journey every step of the way!

The Big 50!

Mar 02, 2012

Not years, pounds!!  Have been doing really well and very excited about my weight loss I'm 10 weeks out now and have lost 50 pounds.  Have been on an emotional roller coaster some days and a bit moody other days, but I'm trying to keep that in check.  Getting ready to go away a couple of days at the end of the month with my husband, I think the break will do us both some good.  Shopping for new clothes!  Thanks for all the stories of success, it really helps!

Just checking in

Feb 09, 2012

Still doing great, 7 weeks out and have lost 37 lbs.  One more pound and I'll be in the 320's!!  Last night my sinus's started giving me problems and today I feel like I have a full blown sinus infection.  Not going to fool around with it going to see my primary care Dr. tomorrow for antibiotic.  Have been walking on my treadmill and that seems to help the weight drop a little faster.  And I joined Planet Fitness last week, I have an appointment with a trainer on Monday, hope this goes well (I really don't like going to the Gym).  I want to get every advantage out of this surgery that I can so I feel that the Gym is a must.  I truly feel like my addiction to food has been conquered!  My husband still eats the junk food and it does not bother me at all, my new junk food is a sugar free fudge cycle.  My prayers and best wishes to ALL!!

Doing Great!

Jan 20, 2012

Things are looking better, I'm dealing fairly well with the loss of my sister, I still have my moments and probably always will.  But I know that I have to take care of myself and be here for my family.  Now for the good news!  Went for my 1 month follow up yesterday and have lost 28 1/2 pounds in 29 days, I'm so excited.  I just thank the Lord and Dr. Small everyday for my gift, I had truly given up on losing weight and living a normal life and now I have hope and dreams again.  Thanks to all of you for your support and prayers also and my wonderful husband and family.

What a week!

Jan 07, 2012

Well I thought my surgery and recovery was going to be hard enough but things got really bad this week.  My 47 year old sister to her own life New Years Night and our life has been turned upside down this week dealing with everything.  She has a 9 year old daughter and 20 year old son, this is so sad.  I've tried to take care of myself and keep up with my protein and fluid intake.  I've started some soft foods and I'm tolerating them OK.  (banana, applesauce, egg/with cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt)  Well at least I'm learning to cope without food didn't have a choice had to take a crash course. I'm going to be OK and I'm going to win this battle.

I'm home and doing well!

Dec 24, 2011

Wanted to let everybody know that I'm home and doing well. Had surgery Wed. morning and was home Friday around lunch time.  I did have a lot of nausea after my surgery but other than that just pain from the surgery itself.  My protein drinks taste really weird and sometimes hard to tolerate, so my taste buds must be really off.  Looks like I've lost about 13 lbs so far (wow!)

24 hours to go OMG!

Dec 19, 2011

Won't be long now.  Wow, a have so many emotions today, happy, scared, nervous, excited, overwhelmed.  Can't wait to wake up tomorrow after surgery and start my new life.  I look at everybody's after pictures and it just makes me want this so bad.  I know it won't be easy but neither is being morbidly obese.

Thanks for your support and prayers

New to Obesity Help

Dec 14, 2011

Hi everyone!  I'm a new member of Obesity Help and I'm excited to start interacting with everyone.  I'm having my surgery in 6 days and can hardly think of anything else.  Right now I'm just really excited but sometimes the anxiety's set in. I'm trying to get everything done for Christmas and get ready for my hospital stay at the same time.  I do have a question about yogurt, I need a yogurt with artificial sweetener for my 2nd stage of my diet and seem to be having trouble finding one.  Any suggestions?
