Oct 10th saw Dr Quinlin, now 5 1/2 weeks post-op.....34 lbs gone forever! Moved to next stage of post-op diet.....taking required vitamins & minerals.....sometimes get a little fatigued if I do too much.....I LOVE Curves! What a difference it has made! Walking on school track & will do treadmill at home. Hubby noticed that my 'caboose' is smaller & said so! Clothes falling off me----down 2 dress sizes so far. Purged closet & gave away clothes. Don't have much of an appetite, and having some trouble with constipation, taking Colase & Dr said to try milk of magnesia. (yuck) Haven't found palatable protein shake yet, still searching! See Dr again in January 2004.........still working at the fluids daily. lap RNY 9/02/03

I just wanted everyone to know that I finally ended a long relationship. One which started with good intentions, but ended up doing harm to my body & my mind, and I should've known better, I am a college-educated 48 yr old woman....I saw all the red flags, I saw all the damage, I knew this relationship was going nowhere and did not have my best interests at heart......so, I took the most dramatic step to end it once & for all! On Sept 2, I ended my very intimate relationship with food. I no longer will rely on food to make me feel good.....I will look food in the face and declare, "I don't love you anyomre!" I will probably miss it, but those feelings will wane as time goes by and I will learn to live & love my life without it. I have learned many things from food, most of it not good...food is never going to be my source of toxicity again, I can't let it....my life will go in new & great directions, I am sure of it! Thanks to my Lord for guidance, my surgeon for skill, my family for support & all AMOS folks for inspiration! Michelle
