On December 29th, 2008, I had abdominoplasty surgery done by Dr. DiNick (Barix).  I was hesistant to have it done but I am so glad that it's over with!  Well...I guess it's not over with...there's still plenty of recovery time to go...each day I am feeling better and better!  I have posted some after pictures...as tastefully as I possibly could...I couldn't hide those drains!  Sorry!!!  Anyway, I am getting some rest...I will update after my first doctor's visit at Barix post surgery!  I can already tell the big difference even though I am swollen!  MINUS 10.5 pounds!!!!  Can you believe how much he took off?????

P.S.  Does anyone have the link to the plastics forum boards?  I can't find them!

I have been maintaining my weight...I am working on losing an additional 15 pounds.  I have a tummy tuck scheduled for December 29th with Dr. DeNick.  I think I will be in shock once all of that loose skin is removed...I can't really imagine myself without it.  But it's a must that I have it removed because it's really been irritating me...

It's been a long time since I have written anything!  I haven't lost much more since my last post.  I weigh about 182 and would really like to lose about 15 more pounds but ultimately I am content with the size that I am at now.  

I can remember there was a point in time when I was bigger and I used to watch my friends borrow each others clothes and that really got me down.  I was really never happy with anything that I would wear because I was always so self concious!   I told myself that if I ever got back down to my high school weight (and I weigh about ten pounds less than I did in high school) that I would NEVER wear baggy clothes again like I used to back then!  And let me tell you, I LOVE clothes!  Torrid is my absolute favorite clothing store!  But I can pretty much shop anywhere I want which is AWESOME!  And you know what's hard for me?  Not being able to shop at Lane Bryant anymore.  I loved that store.  But the coolest thing of all is that my best friend and I wear the same size clothing and we can try on each others clothes and borrow clothes!  It's so much fun!!!!

Having the surgery was the best decision that I have ever made for myself.  I do recommend that if you are looking into having the surgery, you research the procedure, the hospital that you are having the procedure done at and the surgeon that you are dealing with.  Because the surgery is a serious decision to make and every surgery that you have has risks.

I am very happy with my decision.  :)  I am hoping that I can hit my goal very soon!  But I have lost about 100 pounds which is totally AWESOME!!!!

Okay, I have weighed the same for probably 3 weeks now.  I weigh 186...my hospital goal weight is 169...I don't know when I will get there but I will get there!  I would really like to widdle (sp?) my waist down but it seems like I lose weight everywhere else BUT my waist!!!  Maybemy last 20 - 30 pounds will be in my waist.  At least that is what I am hoping!  I will update at 7 months post op!

So today is my 5 months anniversary!  SURGIVERSARY!

I feel great!  I fit into some of my friends clothes (hi jen!) which that in itself is unbelievable!  You don't even know how much I used to want to be able to borrow clothes from my best girlfriends...but they were always so tiny compared to me!!!  So YAY!

I have been eating more lately...which is kind of slowing down my weightloss a bit.  I think I am now averaging about 10 pounds per month or so...which I don't mind at all because I was not losing anything before this surgery!

I just started working out again last week...walking with my friend.  And then today I started back at the gym.  I did run walk intervals for a whole 15 minutes and then some weights on my legs for another 15 minutes.  Tomorrow I will hit the treadmill again and work on my arms.  I have to start doing some crunches...I may tonight!  

The skin on my stomach is disgusting.  I am definitely going to probably go the tummy tuck route down the line.  I didn't think having a little extra skin would be a problem but it's irritating in many ways.

Having a couple if issues with my hubby again...I think he is feeling a little insecure.  He goes through periods like this every couple of weeks since my surgery.  I really don't like it when he is like that but I can also understand his insecurities...I remember when he lost 50 pounds and I felt a little insecure about that...

Anyway, other than that...things are great!!!  This is the best thing I have ever done for myself!

I finally took some pictures of myself!  This is me weighing 74 pounds less than I did 4 months ago!  I still have 40 more pounds to go before I hit my hospital goal weight and about 55 more pounds to go before I hit my personal goal weight!  check 'em out!


The side and back views aren't the greatest but I am working on that. :-)

I really should have started recording my measurements from the beginning.  I had written them down but can't find the paper that I wrote them on!  So from now on I am going to post my measurements!  So here are my measurements 3 and a half months post op:

I went for my 3 month post op check yesterday with Dr. Kam.  I have lost 35% of my weight...typical weightloss in percentages is 25 - 29% at 3 months post op so I am doing better than average!  I weighed 222.8 when I weighed in yesterday!  YAY!  I feel great!  There is something that I noticed today...someone was talking about hernias...I used to think that I had one in my left side...well, I just realized that I haven't had pain there in weeks!  So maybe it wasn't a hernia after all!  I am going to try to post pictures soon!  I am in a size 20 pants and 18 top.  Everyone is really starting to notice my weightloss at this point!!!
