I NEED SKIN SURGERY ADVICE FOR ONTARIO

Feb 18, 2014

Hey fellow WLS friends,

I am 13 months Post-OP...... Jan.17th 2013 I had RNY gastric bypass surgery in Toronto ON. My starting weight was 354 lbs ...... my current weight is 175 lbs .... I have lost 180 lbs.... my goal weight is 140 lbs. I am 5'7 and 30 yrs old and even though I am very happy with my progress, I really do not want to be stuck with this loose skin for another 50-60 years. I have worked my butt off to achieve these results. I have been given this tool and I am utilizing it to it's fullest potential. I have laid down a lot of groundwork, and I know that I will never ever go back to where I was before. However, I need another boost of motivation, and I know skin surgery is the answer. I am asking the veterans out there to inform and educate me about this matter. I need to know what cosmetic surgeons work with OHIP to have various types of skin surgeries covered. I personally need a Tummy Tuck.... as well as a Breast/Buttock/&/Arm Lift.

Hopefully some of you can give you some names and numbers.

Thank you in advance :)

I did it, went to work 4 days after surgery!!!

Feb 01, 2013

I wanted to share with everybody how great I feel and I am only 2 weeks post-op. My surgery was January 17th, 2013 and after only 4 days I felt well enough to go into work. I work as an elementary school teacher, so no heavy lifting involved. Prior to surgery I had posted on the discussion blog asking how long it took before most people went back to work. I had replies from 1 to 6 weeks. I am happy to announce that I am feeling wonderful. Not once have I felt weak or tired and that is saying a lot since I don't consume any caffeine anymore (which I though was humanly impossible to function without). lol!

Whoever is considering this surgery, I am living proof that it is not as scary as some of the horror stories you may have heard. I am recovering splendidly well. I know everyone heals differently, but the other 2 woman in my room who got the surgery the same day as me are also recovering swimmingly well. Sitting here two weeks later, it almost feels like the surgery never happened.

So far, best decision of my life!

Surgery in 3 weeks!!!

Dec 30, 2012

Hi everyone,

So as the title of this post states, I am having surgery January 17th, 2013, and I have been doing Opti Fast (liquid protein shake diet) for 3 days now and man oh man am I cranky lol. I am surprisingly not starving all the time, but certain times of the day are worse for me than others. Such as lunch/afternoons and evenings, basically at normal meal times haha. The purpose of this post is to find out if anyone has any tips that helped them out during this process. I am trying to keep busy, and now I hope that joining this support group will also help.

Side note: I can't seem to change my avatar pic, none of my pictures work, they all exceed the upload limit? *annoying lol
