I really don't like writing profiles. I'm not much of a writer and have no snappy openings so, I'll start with the basics.
I'm 51, divorced for 12 years and have a teenager at home. Raising him has been the center of my world for 17 years. Now he's nearly grown and I'm feeling a bit lost. I have been heavy a few times in my adult life and I'm just tired of the ups, the ups and the occasional downs. I lost 100 pounds on my own in 2007 and kept it off for a few years. But now 50 of that is back and well, you know where this story is headed...
I met with a surgeon in August of this year (2013) and got the ball rolling. I know several people that have had a variety of WLS. Along with watching friends go through the process and my own research, I decided to have VSG.
I hope to have surgery in December or January. But getting the surgery approval from the insurance comes first.
