Hello all you wonderful AMOS folks. I am back from the hospital after my LAP RNY on 4/2/02. A big hug to Cheri Melone on sending out updates for me, and thanks so much to everyone who sent individual messages - I'll try and get out thanks to each of you later. As Cheri posted, my surgery went well, with the exception that I had some breathing problems due to sleep apnea and woke up on a ventilator = Not a pleasant experience. I recommend that anyone who thinks they might have apnea get used to using the CPAP well before WLS. My doctor opted to put me on it while in the hospital and I am having a lot of difficulty trying to get used to the machine as I managed to catch a cold in the hospital and am sneezing and have a runny nose. Otherwise, I have a very slight fever but practically no pain. I just feel as if I did a lot of sit-ups and overdid it a bit. A visiting nurse is coming out to see me Saturday, and hopefully things will continue going well.

Good morning AMOS family! Angel Cheri Melone swooping by for an update on our Melissa Becker. I just spoke with her on the phone and she is doing absolutely wonderful! Three cheers for Melissa's surgeon. She does not have a morphine pump because she does not need one. Melissa has walked the halls some. The best news is that her leak test came back all sealed shut tight. Melissa may be able to come home today. Her doc will let her know a little later. I'll keep everyone posted. Have a great day!
